97:1
إِنَّآ inna Indeed We أَنزَلۡنَٰهُ anzalnahu revealed it فِي fi in لَيۡلَةِ laylati (the) Night ٱلۡقَدۡرِ al-qadri (of) Power ١
inna anzalnahu fi laylati al-qadri
— Transliteration
Verily! We have sent it (this Quran) down in the night of Al-Qadr (Decree)

97:2
وَمَآ wama And what أَدۡرَىٰكَ adraka can make you know مَا ma what لَيۡلَةُ laylatu (the) Night ٱلۡقَدۡرِ al-qadri (of) Power (is)? ٢
wama adraka ma laylatu al-qadri
— Transliteration
And what will make you know what the night of Al-Qadr (Decree) is

97:3
لَيۡلَةُ laylatu (The) Night ٱلۡقَدۡرِ al-qadri (of) Power خَيۡرٞ khayrun (is) better مِّنۡ min than أَلۡفِ alfi a thousand شَهۡرٖ shahrin month(s) ٣
laylatu al-qadri khayrun min alfi shahrin
— Transliteration
The night of Al-Qadr (Decree) is better than a thousand months (i.e. worshipping Allah in that night is better than worshipping Him a thousand months, (i.e. 83 years and 4 months)

97:4
تَنَزَّلُ tanazzalu Descend ٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ al-malaikatu the Angels وَٱلرُّوحُ wal-ruhu and the Spirit فِيهَا fiha therein بِإِذۡنِ bi-idh'ni by (the) permission رَبِّهِم rabbihim (of) their Lord مِّن min for كُلِّ kulli every أَمۡرٖ amrin affair ٤
tanazzalu al-malaikatu wal-ruhu fiha bi-idh'ni rabbihim min kulli amrin
— Transliteration
Therein descend the angels and the Ruh [Jibrael (Gabriel)] by Allah's Permission with all Decrees

97:5
سَلَٰمٌ salamun Peace هِيَ hiya it (is) حَتَّىٰ hatta until مَطۡلَعِ matla'i (the) emergence ٱلۡفَجۡرِ al-fajri (of) the dawn ٥
salamun hiya hatta matla'i al-fajri
— Transliteration
Peace! (All that night, there is Peace and Goodness from Allah to His believing slaves) until the appearance of dawn
