49:1

49:2
يَٰٓأَيُّهَاyaayyuhaO you who believe!ٱلَّذِينَalladhinaO you who believe!ءَامَنُواْamanuO you who believe!لَاla(Do) notتَرۡفَعُوٓاْtarfa'uraiseأَصۡوَٰتَكُمۡaswatakumyour voicesفَوۡقَfawqaaboveصَوۡتِsawti(the) voiceٱلنَّبِيِّal-nabiyi(of) the Prophetوَلَاwalaand (do) notتَجۡهَرُواْtajharube loudلَهُۥlahuto himبِٱلۡقَوۡلِbil-qawliin speechكَجَهۡرِkajahrilike (the) loudnessبَعۡضِكُمۡba'dikum(of) some of youلِبَعۡضٍliba'dinto othersأَنanlestتَحۡبَطَtahbatabecome worthlessأَعۡمَٰلُكُمۡa'malukumyour deedsوَأَنتُمۡwa-antumwhile youلَاla(do) notتَشۡعُرُونَtash'urunaperceive٢
yaayyuha alladhina amanu la tarfa'u aswatakum fawqa sawti al-nabiyi wala tajharu lahu bil-qawli kajahri ba'dikum liba'din an tahbata a'malukum wa-antum la tash'uruna — Transliteration
O you who believe! Raise not your voices above the voice of the Prophet (SAW), nor speak aloud to him in talk as you speak aloud to one another, lest your deeds may be rendered fruitless while you perceive not — English - Hilali & Khan
49:3
إِنَّinnaIndeedٱلَّذِينَalladhinathose whoيَغُضُّونَyaghuddunalowerأَصۡوَٰتَهُمۡaswatahumtheir voicesعِندَinda(in) presenceرَسُولِrasuli(of the) Messenger of Allah ٱللَّهِal-lahi(of the) Messenger of Allah أُوْلَٰٓئِكَulaikathoseٱلَّذِينَalladhina(are) the onesٱمۡتَحَنَim'tahanaAllah has testedٱللَّهُal-lahuAllah has testedقُلُوبَهُمۡqulubahumtheir heartsلِلتَّقۡوَىٰۚlilttaqwafor righteousnessلَهُمlahumFor themمَّغۡفِرَةٞmaghfiratun(is) forgivenessوَأَجۡرٌwa-ajrunand a rewardعَظِيمٌazimungreat٣
Verily! Those who lower their voices in the presence of Allah's Messenger (SAW), they are the ones whose hearts Allah has tested for piety. For them is forgiveness and a great reward — English - Hilali & Khan
49:4
إِنَّinnaIndeedٱلَّذِينَalladhinathose whoيُنَادُونَكَyunadunakacall youمِنminfromوَرَآءِwaraibehindٱلۡحُجُرَٰتِal-hujuratithe private chambersأَكۡثَرُهُمۡaktharuhummost of themلَاla(do) notيَعۡقِلُونَya'qilunaunderstand٤
inna alladhina yunadunaka min warai al-hujurati aktharuhum la ya'qiluna — Transliteration
Verily! Those who call you from behind the dwellings, most of them have no sense — English - Hilali & Khan

49:5
وَلَوۡwalawAnd ifأَنَّهُمۡannahumtheyصَبَرُواْsabaruhad been patientحَتَّىٰhattauntilتَخۡرُجَtakhrujayou came outإِلَيۡهِمۡilayhimto themلَكَانَlakanacertainly it would beخَيۡرٗاkhayranbetterلَّهُمۡۚlahumfor themوَٱللَّهُwal-lahuAnd Allahغَفُورٞghafurun(is) OftForgivingرَّحِيمٞrahimunMost Merciful٥
And if they had patience till you could come out to them, it would have been better for them. And Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful — English - Hilali & Khan
49:6
يَٰٓأَيُّهَاyaayyuhaO you who believe!ٱلَّذِينَalladhinaO you who believe!ءَامَنُوٓاْamanuO you who believe!إِنinIfجَآءَكُمۡjaakumcomes to youفَاسِقُۢfasiquna wicked personبِنَبَإٖbinaba-inwith informationفَتَبَيَّنُوٓاْfatabayyanuinvestigateأَنanlestتُصِيبُواْtusibuyou harmقَوۡمَۢاqawmana peopleبِجَهَٰلَةٖbijahalatinin ignoranceفَتُصۡبِحُواْfatus'bihuthen you becomeعَلَىٰalaoverمَاmawhatفَعَلۡتُمۡfa'altumyou have doneنَٰدِمِينَnadiminaregretful٦
yaayyuha alladhina amanu in jaakum fasiqun binaba-in fatabayyanu an tusibu qawman bijahalatin fatus'bihu ala ma fa'altum nadimina — Transliteration
O you who believe! If a rebellious evil person comes to you with a news, verify it, lest you harm people in ignorance, and afterwards you become regretful to what you have done — English - Hilali & Khan
49:7
وَٱعۡلَمُوٓاْwa-i'lamuAnd knowأَنَّannathatفِيكُمۡfikumamong youرَسُولَrasula(is the) Messenger of Allahٱللَّهِۚal-lahi(is the) Messenger of AllahلَوۡlawIfيُطِيعُكُمۡyuti'ukumhe were to obey youفِيfiinكَثِيرٖkathirinmuchمِّنَminaofٱلۡأَمۡرِal-amrithe matterلَعَنِتُّمۡla'anittumsurely you would be in difficultyوَلَٰكِنَّwalakinnabutٱللَّهَal-lahaAllahحَبَّبَhabbabahas endearedإِلَيۡكُمُilaykumuto youٱلۡإِيمَٰنَal-imanathe Faithوَزَيَّنَهُۥwazayyanahuand has made it pleasingفِيfiinقُلُوبِكُمۡqulubikumyour heartsوَكَرَّهَwakarrahaand has made hatefulإِلَيۡكُمُilaykumuto youٱلۡكُفۡرَal-kuf'radisbeliefوَٱلۡفُسُوقَwal-fusuqaand defianceوَٱلۡعِصۡيَانَۚwal-'is'yanaand disobedienceأُوْلَٰٓئِكَulaikaThoseهُمُhumu(are) they ٱلرَّٰشِدُونَal-rashidunathe guided ones٧
wa-i'lamu anna fikum rasula al-lahi law yuti'ukum fi kathirin mina al-amri la'anittum walakinna al-laha habbaba ilaykumu al-imana wazayyanahu fi qulubikum wakarraha ilaykumu al-kuf'ra wal-fusuqa wal-'is'yana ulaika humu al-rashiduna — Transliteration
And know that, among you there is the Messenger of Allah (SAW). If he were to obey you (i.e. follow your opinions and desires) in much of the matter, you would surely be in trouble, but Allah has endeared the Faith to you and has beautified it in your hearts, and has made disbelief, wickedness and disobedience (to Allah and His Messenger SAW) hateful to you. These! They are the rightly guided ones — English - Hilali & Khan
fadlan mina al-lahi wani'matan wal-lahu alimun hakimun — Transliteration
(This is) a Grace from Allah and His Favour. And Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise — English - Hilali & Khan
49:9
وَإِنwa-inAnd ifطَآئِفَتَانِtaifatanitwo partiesمِنَminaamongٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَal-mu'mininathe believersٱقۡتَتَلُواْiq'tatalufightفَأَصۡلِحُواْfa-aslihuthen make peaceبَيۡنَهُمَاۖbaynahumabetween both of themفَإِنۢfa-inBut ifبَغَتۡbaghatoppressesإِحۡدَىٰهُمَاih'dahumaone of themعَلَىalaonٱلۡأُخۡرَىٰal-ukh'rathe otherفَقَٰتِلُواْfaqatiluthen fightٱلَّتِيallatione whichتَبۡغِيtabghioppressesحَتَّىٰhattauntilتَفِيٓءَtafiait returnsإِلَىٰٓilatoأَمۡرِamri(the) commandٱللَّهِۚal-lahi(of) Allahفَإِنfa-inThen ifفَآءَتۡfaatit returnsفَأَصۡلِحُواْfa-aslihuthen make peaceبَيۡنَهُمَاbaynahumabetween themبِٱلۡعَدۡلِbil-'adliwith justiceوَأَقۡسِطُوٓاْۖwa-aqsituand act justlyإِنَّinnaIndeedٱللَّهَal-lahaAllahيُحِبُّyuhibbulovesٱلۡمُقۡسِطِينَal-muq'sitinathose who act justly٩
wa-in taifatani mina al-mu'minina iq'tatalu fa-aslihu baynahuma fa-in baghat ih'dahuma ala al-ukh'ra faqatilu allati tabghi hatta tafia ila amri al-lahi fa-in faat fa-aslihu baynahuma bil-'adli wa-aqsitu inna al-laha yuhibbu al-muq'sitina — Transliteration
And if two parties or groups among the believers fall to fighting, then make peace between them both, but if one of them rebels against the other, then fight you (all) against the one that which rebels till it complies with the Command of Allah; then if it complies, then make reconciliation between them justly, and be equitable. Verily! Allah loves those who are equitable — English - Hilali & Khan
49:10
إِنَّمَاinnamaOnlyٱلۡمُؤۡمِنُونَal-mu'minunathe believersإِخۡوَةٞikh'watun(are) brothersفَأَصۡلِحُواْfa-aslihuso make peaceبَيۡنَbaynabetweenأَخَوَيۡكُمۡۚakhawaykumyour brothersوَٱتَّقُواْwa-ittaquand fear Allahٱللَّهَal-lahaand fear Allahلَعَلَّكُمۡla'allakumso that you mayتُرۡحَمُونَtur'hamunareceive mercy١٠
The believers are nothing else than brothers (in Islamic religion). So make reconciliation between your brothers, and fear Allah, that you may receive mercy — English - Hilali & Khan
