92:1
وَٱلَّيۡلِ wa-al-layli By the night إِذَا idha when يَغۡشَىٰ yaghsha it covers ١
wa-al-layli idha yaghsha
— Transliteration
By the night as it envelops
— English - Hilali & Khan
92:2
وَٱلنَّهَارِ wal-nahari And the day إِذَا idha when تَجَلَّىٰ tajalla it shines in brightness ٢
wal-nahari idha tajalla
— Transliteration
And by the day as it appears in brightness

92:3
وَمَا wama And He Who خَلَقَ khalaqa created ٱلذَّكَرَ al-dhakara the male وَٱلۡأُنثَىٰٓ wal-untha and the female ٣
wama khalaqa al-dhakara wal-untha
— Transliteration
And by Him Who created male and female

92:4
إِنَّ inna Indeed سَعۡيَكُمۡ sa'yakum your efforts لَشَتَّىٰ lashatta (are) surely diverse ٤
inna sa'yakum lashatta
— Transliteration
Certainly, your efforts and deeds are diverse (different in aims and purposes)

92:5
فَأَمَّا fa-amma Then as for مَنۡ man (him) who أَعۡطَىٰ a'ta gives وَٱتَّقَىٰ wa-ittaqa and fears ٥
fa-amma man a'ta wa-ittaqa
— Transliteration
As for him who gives (in charity) and keeps his duty to Allah and fears Him

92:6
وَصَدَّقَ wasaddaqa And believes بِٱلۡحُسۡنَىٰ bil-hus'na in the best ٦
wasaddaqa bil-hus'na
— Transliteration
And believes in Al-Husna

92:7
فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُۥ fasanuyassiruhu Then We will ease him لِلۡيُسۡرَىٰ lil'yus'ra towards [the] ease ٧
fasanuyassiruhu lil'yus'ra
— Transliteration
We will make smooth for him the path of ease (goodness)

92:8
وَأَمَّا wa-amma But as for مَنۢ man (him) who بَخِلَ bakhila withholds وَٱسۡتَغۡنَىٰ wa-is'taghna and considers himself free from need ٨
wa-amma man bakhila wa-is'taghna
— Transliteration
But he who is greedy miser and thinks himself self-sufficient

92:9
وَكَذَّبَ wakadhaba And denies بِٱلۡحُسۡنَىٰ bil-hus'na the best ٩
wakadhaba bil-hus'na
— Transliteration
And gives the lie to Al-Husna (see Verse No: 6 footnote)

92:10
فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُۥ fasanuyassiruhu Then We will ease him لِلۡعُسۡرَىٰ lil'us'ra towards [the] difficulty ١٠
fasanuyassiruhu lil'us'ra
— Transliteration
We will make smooth for him the path for evil

Ad Dhuhaa
