11:1
الٓرۚ alif-lam-ra Alif Lam Ra كِتَٰبٌ kitabun (This is) a Book أُحۡكِمَتۡ uh'kimat are perfected ءَايَٰتُهُۥ ayatuhu its Verses ثُمَّ thumma moreover فُصِّلَتۡ fussilat explained in detail مِن min from (he One Who) لَّدُنۡ ladun from (he One Who) حَكِيمٍ hakimin (is) AllWise خَبِيرٍ khabirin AllAware ١
alif-lam-ra kitabun uh'kimat ayatuhu thumma fussilat min ladun hakimin khabirin
— Transliteration
Alif-Lam-Ra. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings]. (This is) a Book, the Verses whereof are perfected (in every sphere of knowledge, etc.), and then explained in detail from One (Allah), Who is All-Wise and Well-Acquainted (with all things)

11:2
أَلَّا alla That Not تَعۡبُدُوٓاْ ta'budu you worship إِلَّا illa but ٱللَّهَۚ al-laha Allah إِنَّنِي innani Indeed I am لَكُم lakum to you مِّنۡهُ min'hu from Him نَذِيرٞ nadhirun a warner وَبَشِيرٞ wabashirun and a bearer of glad tidings ٢
alla ta'budu illa al-laha innani lakum min'hu nadhirun wabashirun
— Transliteration
(Saying) worship none but Allah. Verily, I (Muhammad SAW) am unto you from Him a warner and a bringer of glad tidings

11:3
وَأَنِ wa-ani And that ٱسۡتَغۡفِرُواْ is'taghfiru Seek forgiveness رَبَّكُمۡ rabbakum (of) your Lord ثُمَّ thumma and تُوبُوٓاْ tubu turn in repentance إِلَيۡهِ ilayhi to Him يُمَتِّعۡكُم yumatti'kum He will let you مَّتَٰعًا mata'an enjoy حَسَنًا hasanan a good إِلَىٰٓ ila for أَجَلٖ ajalin a term مُّسَمّٗى musamman appointed وَيُؤۡتِ wayu'ti And give كُلَّ kulla (to) every ذِي dhi owner فَضۡلٖ fadlin (of) grace فَضۡلَهُۥۖ fadlahu His Grace وَإِن wa-in But if تَوَلَّوۡاْ tawallaw you turn away فَإِنِّيٓ fa-inni then indeed I أَخَافُ akhafu fear عَلَيۡكُمۡ alaykum for you عَذَابَ adhaba (the) punishment يَوۡمٖ yawmin (of) a Great Day كَبِيرٍ kabirin (of) a Great Day ٣
wa-ani is'taghfiru rabbakum thumma tubu ilayhi yumatti'kum mata'an hasanan ila ajalin musamman wayu'ti kulla dhi fadlin fadlahu wa-in tawallaw fa-inni akhafu alaykum adhaba yawmin kabirin
— Transliteration
And (commanding you): "Seek the forgiveness of your Lord, and turn to Him in repentance, that He may grant you good enjoyment, for a term appointed, and bestow His abounding Grace to every owner of grace (i.e. the one who helps and serves needy and deserving, physically and with his wealth, and even with good words). But if you turn away, then I fear for you the torment of a Great Day (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)

11:4
إِلَى ila To ٱللَّهِ al-lahi Allah مَرۡجِعُكُمۡۖ marji'ukum (is) your return وَهُوَ wahuwa and He عَلَىٰ ala (is) on كُلِّ kulli every شَيۡءٖ shayin thing قَدِيرٌ qadirun AllPowerful ٤
ila al-lahi marji'ukum wahuwa ala kulli shayin qadirun
— Transliteration
To Allah is your return, and He is Able to do all things

11:5
أَلَآ ala No doubt! إِنَّهُمۡ innahum They يَثۡنُونَ yathnuna fold up صُدُورَهُمۡ sudurahum their breasts لِيَسۡتَخۡفُواْ liyastakhfu that they may hide مِنۡهُۚ min'hu from Him أَلَا ala Surely حِينَ hina when يَسۡتَغۡشُونَ yastaghshuna they cover (themselves) ثِيَابَهُمۡ thiyabahum (with) their garments يَعۡلَمُ ya'lamu He knows مَا ma what يُسِرُّونَ yusirruna they conceal وَمَا wama and what يُعۡلِنُونَۚ yu'linuna they reveal إِنَّهُۥ innahu Indeed He عَلِيمُۢ alimun (is) AllKnower بِذَاتِ bidhati of what ٱلصُّدُورِ al-suduri (is in) the breasts ٥
ala innahum yathnuna sudurahum liyastakhfu min'hu ala hina yastaghshuna thiyabahum ya'lamu ma yusirruna wama yu'linuna innahu alimun bidhati al-suduri
— Transliteration
No doubt! They did fold up their breasts, that they may hide from Him. Surely, even when they cover themselves with their garments, He knows what they conceal and what they reveal. Verily, He is the All-Knower of the (innermost secrets) of the breasts

11:6
۞وَمَا wama And not مِن min any دَآبَّةٖ dabbatin moving creature فِي fi in ٱلۡأَرۡضِ al-ardi the earth إِلَّا illa but عَلَى ala on ٱللَّهِ al-lahi Allah رِزۡقُهَا riz'quha (is) its provision وَيَعۡلَمُ waya'lamu And He knows مُسۡتَقَرَّهَا mus'taqarraha its dwelling place وَمُسۡتَوۡدَعَهَاۚ wamus'tawda'aha and its place of storage كُلّٞ kullun All فِي fi (is) in كِتَٰبٖ kitabin a Record مُّبِينٖ mubinin clear ٦
wama min dabbatin fi al-ardi illa ala al-lahi riz'quha waya'lamu mus'taqarraha wamus'tawda'aha kullun fi kitabin mubinin
— Transliteration
And no (moving) living creature is there on earth but its provision is due from Allah. And He knows its dwelling place and its deposit (in the uterous, grave, etc.). all is in a Clear Book (Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz - the Book of Decrees with Allah)

11:7
وَهُوَ wahuwa And He ٱلَّذِي alladhi (is) the One Who خَلَقَ khalaqa created ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ al-samawati the heavens وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ wal-arda and the earth فِي fi in سِتَّةِ sittati six أَيَّامٖ ayyamin epochs وَكَانَ wakana and His throne was عَرۡشُهُۥ arshuhu and His throne was عَلَى ala on ٱلۡمَآءِ al-mai the water لِيَبۡلُوَكُمۡ liyabluwakum that He might test [you] أَيُّكُمۡ ayyukum which of you أَحۡسَنُ ahsanu (is) best عَمَلٗاۗ amalan (in) deed وَلَئِن wala-in But if قُلۡتَ qul'ta you say إِنَّكُم innakum Indeed you مَّبۡعُوثُونَ mab'uthuna (will be) resurrected مِنۢ min after بَعۡدِ ba'di after ٱلۡمَوۡتِ al-mawti [the] death لَيَقُولَنَّ layaqulanna surely would say ٱلَّذِينَ alladhina those who كَفَرُوٓاْ kafaru disbelieved إِنۡ in This is not هَٰذَآ hadha This is not إِلَّا illa but سِحۡرٞ sih'run a magic مُّبِينٞ mubinun clear ٧
wahuwa alladhi khalaqa al-samawati wal-arda fi sittati ayyamin wakana arshuhu ala al-mai liyabluwakum ayyukum ahsanu amalan wala-in qul'ta innakum mab'uthuna min ba'di al-mawti layaqulanna alladhina kafaru in hadha illa sih'run mubinun
— Transliteration
And He it is Who has created the heavens and the earth in six Days and His Throne was on the water, that He might try you, which of you is the best in deeds. But if you were to say to them: "You shall indeed be raised up after death," those who disbelieve would be sure to say, "This is nothing but obvious magic

11:8
وَلَئِنۡ wala-in And if أَخَّرۡنَا akharna We delay عَنۡهُمُ anhumu from them ٱلۡعَذَابَ al-'adhaba the punishment إِلَىٰٓ ila for أُمَّةٖ ummatin a time مَّعۡدُودَةٖ ma'dudatin determined لَّيَقُولُنَّ layaqulunna they will surely say مَا ma What يَحۡبِسُهُۥٓۗ yahbisuhu detains it? أَلَا ala No doubt! يَوۡمَ yawma (On) the Day يَأۡتِيهِمۡ yatihim it comes to them لَيۡسَ laysa not مَصۡرُوفًا masrufan (will be) averted عَنۡهُمۡ anhum from them وَحَاقَ wahaqa and will surround بِهِم bihim them مَّا ma what كَانُواْ kanu they used (to) بِهِۦ bihi mock at [it] يَسۡتَهۡزِءُونَ yastahziuna mock at [it] ٨
wala-in akharna anhumu al-'adhaba ila ummatin ma'dudatin layaqulunna ma yahbisuhu ala yawma yatihim laysa masrufan anhum wahaqa bihim ma kanu bihi yastahziuna
— Transliteration
And if We delay the torment for them till a determined term, they are sure to say, "What keeps it back?" Verily, on the day it reaches them, nothing will turn it away from them, and they will be surrounded by (fall in) that at which they used to mock

11:9
وَلَئِنۡ wala-in And if أَذَقۡنَا adhaqna We give man a taste ٱلۡإِنسَٰنَ al-insana We give man a taste مِنَّا minna (of) Mercy from Us رَحۡمَةٗ rahmatan (of) Mercy from Us ثُمَّ thumma then نَزَعۡنَٰهَا naza'naha We withdraw it مِنۡهُ min'hu from him إِنَّهُۥ innahu indeed he لَيَـُٔوسٞ layausun (is) despairing كَفُورٞ kafurun (and) ungrateful ٩
wala-in adhaqna al-insana minna rahmatan thumma naza'naha min'hu innahu layausun kafurun
— Transliteration
And if We give man a taste of Mercy from Us, and then withdraw it from him, verily! He is despairing, ungrateful

11:10
وَلَئِنۡ wala-in But if أَذَقۡنَٰهُ adhaqnahu We give him a taste نَعۡمَآءَ na'maa (of) favor بَعۡدَ ba'da after ضَرَّآءَ darraa hardship مَسَّتۡهُ massathu (has) touched him لَيَقُولَنَّ layaqulanna surely he will say ذَهَبَ dhahaba Have gone ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتُ al-sayiatu the evils عَنِّيٓۚ anni from me إِنَّهُۥ innahu Indeed he لَفَرِحٞ lafarihun (is) exultant فَخُورٌ fakhurun (and) boastful ١٠
wala-in adhaqnahu na'maa ba'da darraa massathu layaqulanna dhahaba al-sayiatu anni innahu lafarihun fakhurun
— Transliteration
But if We let him taste good (favour) after evil (poverty and harm) has touched him, he is sure to say: "Ills have departed from me." Surely, he is exultant, and boastful (ungrateful to Allah)
