91:1
وَٱلشَّمۡسِ wal-shamsi By the sun وَضُحَىٰهَا waduhaha and its brightness ١
wal-shamsi waduhaha
— Transliteration
And by the sun and its brightness

91:2
وَٱلۡقَمَرِ wal-qamari And the moon إِذَا idha when تَلَىٰهَا talaha it follows it ٢
wal-qamari idha talaha
— Transliteration
And by the moon as it follows it (the sun)

91:3
وَٱلنَّهَارِ wal-nahari And the day إِذَا idha when جَلَّىٰهَا jallaha it displays it ٣
wal-nahari idha jallaha
— Transliteration
And by the day as it shows up (the sun's) brightness

91:4
وَٱلَّيۡلِ wa-al-layli And the night إِذَا idha when يَغۡشَىٰهَا yaghshaha it covers it ٤
wa-al-layli idha yaghshaha
— Transliteration
And by the night as it conceals it (the sun)

91:5
وَٱلسَّمَآءِ wal-samai And the heaven وَمَا wama and (He) Who بَنَىٰهَا banaha constructed it ٥
wal-samai wama banaha
— Transliteration
And by the heaven and Him Who built it

91:6
وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ wal-ardi And the earth وَمَا wama and by (He) Who طَحَىٰهَا tahaha spread it ٦
wal-ardi wama tahaha
— Transliteration
And by the earth and Him Who spread it

91:7
وَنَفۡسٖ wanafsin And (the) soul وَمَا wama and (He) Who سَوَّىٰهَا sawwaha proportioned it ٧
wanafsin wama sawwaha
— Transliteration
And by Nafs (Adam or a person or a soul, etc.), and Him Who perfected him in proportion

91:8
فَأَلۡهَمَهَا fa-alhamaha And He inspired it فُجُورَهَا fujuraha (to distinguish) its wickedness وَتَقۡوَىٰهَا wataqwaha and its righteousness ٨
fa-alhamaha fujuraha wataqwaha
— Transliteration
Then He showed him what is wrong for him and what is right for him

91:9
قَدۡ qad Indeed أَفۡلَحَ aflaha he succeeds مَن man who زَكَّىٰهَا zakkaha purifies it ٩
qad aflaha man zakkaha
— Transliteration
Indeed he succeeds who purifies his ownself (i.e. obeys and performs all that Allah ordered, by following the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism and by doing righteous good deeds)

91:10
وَقَدۡ waqad And indeed خَابَ khaba he fails مَن man who دَسَّىٰهَا dassaha buries it ١٠
waqad khaba man dassaha
— Transliteration
And indeed he fails who corrupts his ownself (i.e. disobeys what Allah has ordered by rejecting the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism or by following polytheism, etc. or by doing every kind of evil wicked deeds)
