الٓرۚalif-lam-raAlif Laam Raتِلۡكَtil'kaTheseءَايَٰتُayatu(are) the Versesٱلۡكِتَٰبِal-kitabi(of) the Bookوَقُرۡءَانٖwaqur'aninand Quranمُّبِينٖmubininclear١
Alif-Lam-Ra. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings]. These are the Verses of the Book, and a plain Quran — English - Hilali & Khan
15:2
رُّبَمَاrubamaPerhapsيَوَدُّyawadduwill wishٱلَّذِينَalladhinathose whoكَفَرُواْkafarudisbelievedلَوۡlawifكَانُواْkanuthey had beenمُسۡلِمِينَmus'liminaMuslims٢
rubama yawaddu alladhina kafaru law kanu mus'limina — Transliteration
Perhaps (often) will those who disbelieve wish that they were Muslims [those who have submitted themselves to Allah's Will in Islam Islamic Monotheism, this will be on the Day of Resurrection when they will see the disbelievers going to Hell and the Muslims going to Paradise] — English - Hilali & Khan
15:3
ذَرۡهُمۡdharhumLeave themيَأۡكُلُواْyakulu(to) eatوَيَتَمَتَّعُواْwayatamatta'uand enjoyوَيُلۡهِهِمُwayul'hihimuand diverted themٱلۡأَمَلُۖal-amaluthe hopeفَسَوۡفَfasawfathen soonيَعۡلَمُونَya'lamunathey will come to know٣
ma tasbiqu min ummatin ajalaha wama yastakhiruna — Transliteration
No nation can anticipate its term, nor delay it — English - Hilali & Khan
15:6
وَقَالُواْwaqaluAnd they sayيَٰٓأَيُّهَاyaayyuhaO youٱلَّذِيalladhi(to) whomنُزِّلَnuzzilahas been sent downعَلَيۡهِalayhi[on him]ٱلذِّكۡرُal-dhik'ruthe Reminderإِنَّكَinnakaindeed youلَمَجۡنُونٞlamajnunun(are) surely mad٦
waqalu yaayyuha alladhi nuzzila alayhi al-dhik'ru innaka lamajnunun — Transliteration
And they say: "O you (Muhammad SAW) to whom the Dhikr (the Quran) has been sent down! Verily, you are a mad man — English - Hilali & Khan
15:7
لَّوۡlawWhyمَاmanotتَأۡتِينَاtatinayou bring to usبِٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةِbil-malaikatithe Angelsإِنinifكُنتَkuntayou areمِنَminaofٱلصَّٰدِقِينَal-sadiqinathe truthful?٧
law ma tatina bil-malaikati in kunta mina al-sadiqina — Transliteration
Why do you not bring angels to us if you are of the truthful ones — English - Hilali & Khan
15:8
مَاmaNotنُنَزِّلُnunazziluWe send downٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةَal-malaikatathe Angelsإِلَّاillaexceptبِٱلۡحَقِّbil-haqiwith the truthوَمَاwamaand notكَانُوٓاْkanuthey would beإِذٗاidhanthenمُّنظَرِينَmunzarinagiven respite٨
ma nunazzilu al-malaikata illa bil-haqi wama kanu idhan munzarina — Transliteration
We send not the angels down except with the truth (i.e. for torment, etc.), and in that case, they (the disbelievers) would have no respite — English - Hilali & Khan
15:9
إِنَّاinnaIndeed WeنَحۡنُnahnuWeنَزَّلۡنَاnazzalnahave sent downٱلذِّكۡرَal-dhik'rathe Reminderوَإِنَّاwa-innaand indeed Weلَهُۥlahuof itلَحَٰفِظُونَlahafizuna(are) surely Guardians٩
Verily We: It is We Who have sent down the Dhikr (i.e. the Quran) and surely, We will guard it (from corruption) — English - Hilali & Khan
15:10
وَلَقَدۡwalaqadAnd certainlyأَرۡسَلۡنَاarsalnaWe (had) sentمِنminbefore youقَبۡلِكَqablikabefore youفِيfiinشِيَعِshiya'ithe sectsٱلۡأَوَّلِينَal-awalina(of) the former (people)١٠
walaqad arsalna min qablika fi shiya'i al-awalina — Transliteration
Indeed, We sent Messengers before you (O Muhammad SAW) amongst the sects (communities) of old — English - Hilali & Khan
