39:1
تَنزِيلُ tanzilu (The) revelation ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ al-kitabi (of) the Book مِنَ mina (is) from ٱللَّهِ al-lahi Allah ٱلۡعَزِيزِ al-'azizi the AllMighty ٱلۡحَكِيمِ al-hakimi the AllWise ١
tanzilu al-kitabi mina al-lahi al-'azizi al-hakimi
— Transliteration
The revelation of this Book (the Quran) is from Allah, the All-Mighty, the All-Wise

39:2
إِنَّآ inna Indeed We أَنزَلۡنَآ anzalna [We] have revealed إِلَيۡكَ ilayka to you ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ al-kitaba the Book بِٱلۡحَقِّ bil-haqi in truth فَٱعۡبُدِ fa-u'budi so worship ٱللَّهَ al-laha Allah مُخۡلِصٗا mukh'lisan (being) sincere لَّهُ lahu to Him ٱلدِّينَ al-dina (in) the religion ٢
inna anzalna ilayka al-kitaba bil-haqi fa-u'budi al-laha mukh'lisan lahu al-dina
— Transliteration
Verily, We have sent down the Book to you (O Muhammad SAW) in truth: So worship Allah (Alone) by doing religious deeds sincerely for Allah's sake only, (and not to show-off, and not to set up rivals with Him in worship)

39:3
أَلَا ala Unquestionably لِلَّهِ lillahi for Allah ٱلدِّينُ al-dinu (is) the religion ٱلۡخَالِصُۚ al-khalisu the pure وَٱلَّذِينَ wa-alladhina And those who ٱتَّخَذُواْ ittakhadhu take مِن min besides Him دُونِهِۦٓ dunihi besides Him أَوۡلِيَآءَ awliyaa protectors مَا ma Not نَعۡبُدُهُمۡ na'buduhum we worship them إِلَّا illa except لِيُقَرِّبُونَآ liyuqarribuna that they may bring us near إِلَى ila to ٱللَّهِ al-lahi Allah زُلۡفَىٰٓ zul'fa (in) nearness إِنَّ inna Indeed ٱللَّهَ al-laha Allah يَحۡكُمُ yahkumu will judge بَيۡنَهُمۡ baynahum between them فِي fi in مَا ma what هُمۡ hum they فِيهِ fihi [in it] يَخۡتَلِفُونَۗ yakhtalifuna differ إِنَّ inna Indeed ٱللَّهَ al-laha Allah لَا la (does) not يَهۡدِي yahdi guide مَنۡ man (one) who هُوَ huwa [he] كَٰذِبٞ kadhibun (is) a liar كَفَّارٞ kaffarun and a disbeliever ٣
ala lillahi al-dinu al-khalisu wa-alladhina ittakhadhu min dunihi awliyaa ma na'buduhum illa liyuqarribuna ila al-lahi zul'fa inna al-laha yahkumu baynahum fi ma hum fihi yakhtalifuna inna al-laha la yahdi man huwa kadhibun kaffarun
— Transliteration
Surely, the religion (i.e. the worship and the obedience) is for Allah only. And those who take Auliya' (protectors and helpers) besides Him (say): "We worship them only that they may bring us near to Allah." Verily, Allah will judge between them concerning that wherein they differ. Truly, Allah guides not him who is a liar, and a disbeliever

39:4
لَّوۡ law If أَرَادَ arada Allah (had) intended ٱللَّهُ al-lahu Allah (had) intended أَن an to يَتَّخِذَ yattakhidha take وَلَدٗا waladan a son لَّٱصۡطَفَىٰ la-is'tafa surely He (could) have chosen مِمَّا mimma from what يَخۡلُقُ yakhluqu He creates مَا ma whatever يَشَآءُۚ yashau He willed سُبۡحَٰنَهُۥۖ sub'hanahu Glory be to Him! هُوَ huwa He ٱللَّهُ al-lahu (is) Allah ٱلۡوَٰحِدُ al-wahidu the One ٱلۡقَهَّارُ al-qaharu the Irresistible ٤
law arada al-lahu an yattakhidha waladan la-is'tafa mimma yakhluqu ma yashau sub'hanahu huwa al-lahu al-wahidu al-qaharu
— Transliteration
Had Allah willed to take a son (or offspring or children), He could have chosen whom He pleased out of those whom He created. But glory be to Him! (He is above such things). He is Allah, the One, the Irresistible

39:5
خَلَقَ khalaqa He created ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ al-samawati the heavens وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ wal-arda and the earth بِٱلۡحَقِّۖ bil-haqi in [the] truth يُكَوِّرُ yukawwiru He wraps ٱلَّيۡلَ al-layla the night عَلَى ala over ٱلنَّهَارِ al-nahari the day وَيُكَوِّرُ wayukawwiru and wraps ٱلنَّهَارَ al-nahara the day عَلَى ala over ٱلَّيۡلِۖ al-layli the night وَسَخَّرَ wasakhara And He subjected ٱلشَّمۡسَ al-shamsa the sun وَٱلۡقَمَرَۖ wal-qamara and the moon كُلّٞ kullun each يَجۡرِي yajri running لِأَجَلٖ li-ajalin for a term مُّسَمًّىۗ musamman specified أَلَا ala Unquestionably هُوَ huwa He ٱلۡعَزِيزُ al-'azizu (is) the AllMighty ٱلۡغَفَّٰرُ al-ghafaru the OftForgiving ٥
khalaqa al-samawati wal-arda bil-haqi yukawwiru al-layla ala al-nahari wayukawwiru al-nahara ala al-layli wasakhara al-shamsa wal-qamara kullun yajri li-ajalin musamman ala huwa al-'azizu al-ghafaru
— Transliteration
He has created the heavens and the earth with truth. He makes the night to go in the day and makes the day to go in the night. And He has subjected the sun and the moon. Each running (on a fixed course) for an appointed term. Verily, He is the All-Mighty, the Oft-Forgiving

39:6
خَلَقَكُم khalaqakum He created you مِّن min from نَّفۡسٖ nafsin a soul وَٰحِدَةٖ wahidatin single ثُمَّ thumma Then جَعَلَ ja'ala He made مِنۡهَا min'ha from it زَوۡجَهَا zawjaha its mate وَأَنزَلَ wa-anzala And He sent down لَكُم lakum for you مِّنَ mina of ٱلۡأَنۡعَٰمِ al-an'ami the cattle ثَمَٰنِيَةَ thamaniyata eight أَزۡوَٰجٖۚ azwajin kinds يَخۡلُقُكُمۡ yakhluqukum He creates you فِي fi in بُطُونِ butuni (the) wombs أُمَّهَٰتِكُمۡ ummahatikum (of) your mothers خَلۡقٗا khalqan creation مِّنۢ min after بَعۡدِ ba'di after خَلۡقٖ khalqin creation فِي fi in ظُلُمَٰتٖ zulumatin darkness[es] ثَلَٰثٖۚ thalathin three ذَٰلِكُمُ dhalikumu That ٱللَّهُ al-lahu (is) Allah رَبُّكُمۡ rabbukum your Lord لَهُ lahu for Him ٱلۡمُلۡكُۖ al-mul'ku (is) the dominion لَآ la (There is) no إِلَٰهَ ilaha god إِلَّا illa except هُوَۖ huwa He فَأَنَّىٰ fa-anna Then how تُصۡرَفُونَ tus'rafuna are you turning away? ٦
khalaqakum min nafsin wahidatin thumma ja'ala min'ha zawjaha wa-anzala lakum mina al-an'ami thamaniyata azwajin yakhluqukum fi butuni ummahatikum khalqan min ba'di khalqin fi zulumatin thalathin dhalikumu al-lahu rabbukum lahu al-mul'ku la ilaha illa huwa fa-anna tus'rafuna
— Transliteration
He created you (all) from a single person (Adam); then made from him his wife [Hawwa' (Eve)]. And He has sent down for you of cattle eight pairs (of the sheep, two, male and female; of the goats, two, male and female; of the oxen, two, male and female; and of the camels, two, male and female). He creates you in the wombs of your mothers, creation after creation in three veils of darkness, such is Allah your Lord. His is the kingdom, La ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He). How then are you turned away

39:7
إِن in If تَكۡفُرُواْ takfuru you disbelieve فَإِنَّ fa-inna then indeed ٱللَّهَ al-laha Allah غَنِيٌّ ghaniyyun (is) free from need عَنكُمۡۖ ankum of you وَلَا wala And not يَرۡضَىٰ yarda He likes لِعِبَادِهِ li'ibadihi in His slaves ٱلۡكُفۡرَۖ al-kuf'ra ungratefulness وَإِن wa-in And if تَشۡكُرُواْ tashkuru you are grateful يَرۡضَهُ yardahu He likes it لَكُمۡۗ lakum in you وَلَا wala And not تَزِرُ taziru will bear وَازِرَةٞ waziratun bearer of burdens وِزۡرَ wiz'ra (the) burden أُخۡرَىٰۚ ukh'ra (of) another ثُمَّ thumma Then إِلَىٰ ila to رَبِّكُم rabbikum your Lord مَّرۡجِعُكُمۡ marji'ukum (is) your return فَيُنَبِّئُكُم fayunabbi-ukum then He will inform you بِمَا bima about what كُنتُمۡ kuntum you used to تَعۡمَلُونَۚ ta'maluna do إِنَّهُۥ innahu Indeed He عَلِيمُۢ alimun (is) the AllKnower بِذَاتِ bidhati of what (is) in the breasts ٱلصُّدُورِ al-suduri of what (is) in the breasts ٧
in takfuru fa-inna al-laha ghaniyyun ankum wala yarda li'ibadihi al-kuf'ra wa-in tashkuru yardahu lakum wala taziru waziratun wiz'ra ukh'ra thumma ila rabbikum marji'ukum fayunabbi-ukum bima kuntum ta'maluna innahu alimun bidhati al-suduri
— Transliteration
If you disbelieve, then verily, Allah is not in need of you, He likes not disbelief for His slaves. And if you are grateful (by being believers), He is pleased therewith for you. No bearer of burdens shall bear the burden of another. Then to your Lord is your return, so He will inform you what you used to do. Verily, He is the All-Knower of that which is in (men's) breasts

39:8
۞وَإِذَا wa-idha And when مَسَّ massa touches ٱلۡإِنسَٰنَ al-insana [the] man ضُرّٞ durrun adversity دَعَا da'a he calls رَبَّهُۥ rabbahu his Lord مُنِيبًا muniban turning إِلَيۡهِ ilayhi to Him ثُمَّ thumma then إِذَا idha when خَوَّلَهُۥ khawwalahu He bestows on him نِعۡمَةٗ ni'matan a favor مِّنۡهُ min'hu from Himself نَسِيَ nasiya he forgets مَا ma (for) what كَانَ kana he used to call يَدۡعُوٓاْ yad'u he used to call إِلَيۡهِ ilayhi [to] Him مِن min before قَبۡلُ qablu before وَجَعَلَ waja'ala and he sets up لِلَّهِ lillahi to Allah أَندَادٗا andadan rivals لِّيُضِلَّ liyudilla to mislead عَن an from سَبِيلِهِۦۚ sabilihi His Path قُلۡ qul Say تَمَتَّعۡ tamatta' Enjoy بِكُفۡرِكَ bikuf'rika in your disbelief قَلِيلًا qalilan (for) a little إِنَّكَ innaka Indeed you مِنۡ min (are) of أَصۡحَٰبِ ashabi (the) companions ٱلنَّارِ al-nari (of) the Fire ٨
wa-idha massa al-insana durrun da'a rabbahu muniban ilayhi thumma idha khawwalahu ni'matan min'hu nasiya ma kana yad'u ilayhi min qablu waja'ala lillahi andadan liyudilla an sabilihi qul tamatta' bikuf'rika qalilan innaka min ashabi al-nari
— Transliteration
And when some hurt touches man, he cries to his Lord (Allah Alone), turning to Him in repentance, but when He bestows a favour upon him from Himself, he forgets that for which he cried for before, and he sets up rivals to Allah, in order to mislead others from His Path. Say: "Take pleasure in your disbelief for a while: surely, you are (one) of the dwellers of the Fire

39:9
أَمَّنۡ amman Is (one) who هُوَ huwa [he] قَٰنِتٌ qanitun (is) devoutly obedient ءَانَآءَ anaa (during) hours ٱلَّيۡلِ al-layli (of) the night سَاجِدٗا sajidan prostrating وَقَآئِمٗا waqaiman and standing يَحۡذَرُ yahdharu fearing ٱلۡأٓخِرَةَ al-akhirata the Hereafter وَيَرۡجُواْ wayarju and hoping رَحۡمَةَ rahmata (for the) Mercy رَبِّهِۦۗ rabbihi (of) his Lord? قُلۡ qul Say هَلۡ hal Are يَسۡتَوِي yastawi equal ٱلَّذِينَ alladhina those who يَعۡلَمُونَ ya'lamuna know وَٱلَّذِينَ wa-alladhina and those who لَا la (do) not يَعۡلَمُونَۗ ya'lamuna know? إِنَّمَا innama Only يَتَذَكَّرُ yatadhakkaru will take heed أُوْلُواْ ulu those of understanding ٱلۡأَلۡبَٰبِ al-albabi those of understanding ٩
amman huwa qanitun anaa al-layli sajidan waqaiman yahdharu al-akhirata wayarju rahmata rabbihi qul hal yastawi alladhina ya'lamuna wa-alladhina la ya'lamuna innama yatadhakkaru ulu al-albabi
— Transliteration
Is one who is obedient to Allah, prostrating himself or standing (in prayer) during the hours of the night, fearing the Hereafter and hoping for the Mercy of his Lord (like one who disbelieves)? Say: "Are those who know equal to those who know not?" It is only men of understanding who will remember (i.e. get a lesson from Allah's Signs and Verses)

39:10
قُلۡ qul Say يَٰعِبَادِ ya'ibadi O My slaves ٱلَّذِينَ alladhina [those] who ءَامَنُواْ amanu believe! ٱتَّقُواْ ittaqu Fear رَبَّكُمۡۚ rabbakum your Lord لِلَّذِينَ lilladhina For those who أَحۡسَنُواْ ahsanu do good فِي fi in هَٰذِهِ hadhihi this ٱلدُّنۡيَا al-dun'ya world حَسَنَةٞۗ hasanatun (is) good وَأَرۡضُ wa-ardu and the earth ٱللَّهِ al-lahi (of) Allah وَٰسِعَةٌۗ wasi'atun (is) spacious إِنَّمَا innama Only يُوَفَّى yuwaffa will be paid back in full ٱلصَّٰبِرُونَ al-sabiruna the patient ones أَجۡرَهُم ajrahum their reward بِغَيۡرِ bighayri without حِسَابٖ hisabin account ١٠
qul ya'ibadi alladhina amanu ittaqu rabbakum lilladhina ahsanu fi hadhihi al-dun'ya hasanatun wa-ardu al-lahi wasi'atun innama yuwaffa al-sabiruna ajrahum bighayri hisabin
— Transliteration
Say (O Muhammad SAW): "O My slaves who believe (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism), be afraid of your Lord (Allah) and keep your duty to Him. Good is (the reward) for those who do good in this world, and Allah's earth is spacious (so if you cannot worship Allah at a place, then go to another)! Only those who are patient shall receive their rewards in full, without reckoning
