الصَّمَدُٱلصَّمَدُl-ṣamaduthe Eternal the Absoluteاللَّهُٱللَّهُal-lahuAllah
Verily, We have sent down the Book to you (O Muhammad SAW) in truth: So worship Allah (Alone) by doing religious deeds sincerely for Allah's sake only, (and not to show-off, and not to set up rivals with Him in worship) — English - Hilali & Khan
39:3
أَلَاalaUnquestionablyلِلَّهِlillahifor Allahٱلدِّينُal-dinu(is) the religionٱلۡخَالِصُۚal-khalisuthe pureوَٱلَّذِينَwa-alladhinaAnd those whoٱتَّخَذُواْittakhadhutakeمِنminbesides Himدُونِهِۦٓdunihibesides HimأَوۡلِيَآءَawliyaaprotectorsمَاmaNotنَعۡبُدُهُمۡna'buduhumwe worship themإِلَّاillaexceptلِيُقَرِّبُونَآliyuqarribunathat they may bring us nearإِلَىilatoٱللَّهِal-lahiAllahزُلۡفَىٰٓzul'fa(in) nearnessإِنَّinnaIndeedٱللَّهَal-lahaAllahيَحۡكُمُyahkumuwill judgeبَيۡنَهُمۡbaynahumbetween themفِيfiinمَاmawhatهُمۡhumtheyفِيهِfihi[in it]يَخۡتَلِفُونَۗyakhtalifunadifferإِنَّinnaIndeedٱللَّهَal-lahaAllahلَاla(does) notيَهۡدِيyahdiguideمَنۡman(one) whoهُوَhuwa[he]كَٰذِبٞkadhibun(is) a liarكَفَّارٞkaffarunand a disbeliever٣
ala lillahi al-dinu al-khalisu wa-alladhina ittakhadhu min dunihi awliyaa ma na'buduhum illa liyuqarribuna ila al-lahi zul'fa inna al-laha yahkumu baynahum fi ma hum fihi yakhtalifuna inna al-laha la yahdi man huwa kadhibun kaffarun — Transliteration
Surely, the religion (i.e. the worship and the obedience) is for Allah only. And those who take Auliya' (protectors and helpers) besides Him (say): "We worship them only that they may bring us near to Allah." Verily, Allah will judge between them concerning that wherein they differ. Truly, Allah guides not him who is a liar, and a disbeliever — English - Hilali & Khan
39:4
لَّوۡlawIfأَرَادَaradaAllah (had) intendedٱللَّهُal-lahuAllah (had) intendedأَنantoيَتَّخِذَyattakhidhatakeوَلَدٗاwaladana sonلَّٱصۡطَفَىٰla-is'tafasurely He (could) have chosenمِمَّاmimmafrom whatيَخۡلُقُyakhluquHe createsمَاmawhateverيَشَآءُۚyashauHe willedسُبۡحَٰنَهُۥۖsub'hanahuGlory be to Him!هُوَhuwaHeٱللَّهُal-lahu(is) Allahٱلۡوَٰحِدُal-wahiduthe Oneٱلۡقَهَّارُal-qaharuthe Irresistible٤
law arada al-lahu an yattakhidha waladan la-is'tafa mimma yakhluqu ma yashau sub'hanahu huwa al-lahu al-wahidu al-qaharu — Transliteration
Had Allah willed to take a son (or offspring or children), He could have chosen whom He pleased out of those whom He created. But glory be to Him! (He is above such things). He is Allah, the One, the Irresistible — English - Hilali & Khan
39:5
خَلَقَkhalaqaHe createdٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِal-samawatithe heavensوَٱلۡأَرۡضَwal-ardaand the earthبِٱلۡحَقِّۖbil-haqiin [the] truthيُكَوِّرُyukawwiruHe wrapsٱلَّيۡلَal-laylathe nightعَلَىalaoverٱلنَّهَارِal-naharithe dayوَيُكَوِّرُwayukawwiruand wrapsٱلنَّهَارَal-naharathe dayعَلَىalaoverٱلَّيۡلِۖal-laylithe nightوَسَخَّرَwasakharaAnd He subjectedٱلشَّمۡسَal-shamsathe sunوَٱلۡقَمَرَۖwal-qamaraand the moonكُلّٞkulluneachيَجۡرِيyajrirunningلِأَجَلٖli-ajalinfor a termمُّسَمًّىۗmusammanspecifiedأَلَاalaUnquestionablyهُوَhuwaHeٱلۡعَزِيزُal-'azizu(is) the AllMightyٱلۡغَفَّٰرُal-ghafaruthe OftForgiving٥
khalaqa al-samawati wal-arda bil-haqi yukawwiru al-layla ala al-nahari wayukawwiru al-nahara ala al-layli wasakhara al-shamsa wal-qamara kullun yajri li-ajalin musamman ala huwa al-'azizu al-ghafaru — Transliteration
He has created the heavens and the earth with truth. He makes the night to go in the day and makes the day to go in the night. And He has subjected the sun and the moon. Each running (on a fixed course) for an appointed term. Verily, He is the All-Mighty, the Oft-Forgiving — English - Hilali & Khan

خَلَقَكُمkhalaqakumHe created youمِّنminfromنَّفۡسٖnafsina soulوَٰحِدَةٖwahidatinsingleثُمَّthummaThenجَعَلَja'alaHe madeمِنۡهَاmin'hafrom itزَوۡجَهَاzawjahaits mateوَأَنزَلَwa-anzalaAnd He sent downلَكُمlakumfor youمِّنَminaofٱلۡأَنۡعَٰمِal-an'amithe cattleثَمَٰنِيَةَthamaniyataeightأَزۡوَٰجٖۚazwajinkindsيَخۡلُقُكُمۡyakhluqukumHe creates youفِيfiinبُطُونِbutuni(the) wombsأُمَّهَٰتِكُمۡummahatikum(of) your mothersخَلۡقٗاkhalqancreationمِّنۢminafterبَعۡدِba'diafterخَلۡقٖkhalqincreationفِيfiinظُلُمَٰتٖzulumatindarkness[es]ثَلَٰثٖۚthalathinthreeذَٰلِكُمُdhalikumuThatٱللَّهُal-lahu(is) Allahرَبُّكُمۡrabbukumyour Lordلَهُlahufor Himٱلۡمُلۡكُۖal-mul'ku(is) the dominionلَآla(There is) noإِلَٰهَilahagodإِلَّاillaexceptهُوَۖhuwaHeفَأَنَّىٰfa-annaThen howتُصۡرَفُونَtus'rafunaare you turning away?٦
khalaqakum min nafsin wahidatin thumma ja'ala min'ha zawjaha wa-anzala lakum mina al-an'ami thamaniyata azwajin yakhluqukum fi butuni ummahatikum khalqan min ba'di khalqin fi zulumatin thalathin dhalikumu al-lahu rabbukum lahu al-mul'ku la ilaha illa huwa fa-anna tus'rafuna — Transliteration
He created you (all) from a single person (Adam); then made from him his wife [Hawwa' (Eve)]. And He has sent down for you of cattle eight pairs (of the sheep, two, male and female; of the goats, two, male and female; of the oxen, two, male and female; and of the camels, two, male and female). He creates you in the wombs of your mothers, creation after creation in three veils of darkness, such is Allah your Lord. His is the kingdom, La ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He). How then are you turned away — English - Hilali & Khan
39:7
إِنinIfتَكۡفُرُواْtakfuruyou disbelieveفَإِنَّfa-innathen indeedٱللَّهَal-lahaAllahغَنِيٌّghaniyyun(is) free from needعَنكُمۡۖankumof youوَلَاwalaAnd notيَرۡضَىٰyardaHe likesلِعِبَادِهِli'ibadihiin His slavesٱلۡكُفۡرَۖal-kuf'raungratefulnessوَإِنwa-inAnd ifتَشۡكُرُواْtashkuruyou are gratefulيَرۡضَهُyardahuHe likes itلَكُمۡۗlakumin youوَلَاwalaAnd notتَزِرُtaziruwill bearوَازِرَةٞwaziratunbearer of burdensوِزۡرَwiz'ra(the) burdenأُخۡرَىٰۚukh'ra(of) anotherثُمَّthummaThenإِلَىٰilatoرَبِّكُمrabbikumyour Lordمَّرۡجِعُكُمۡmarji'ukum(is) your returnفَيُنَبِّئُكُمfayunabbi-ukumthen He will inform youبِمَاbimaabout whatكُنتُمۡkuntumyou used toتَعۡمَلُونَۚta'malunadoإِنَّهُۥinnahuIndeed Heعَلِيمُۢalimun(is) the AllKnowerبِذَاتِbidhatiof what (is) in the breastsٱلصُّدُورِal-suduriof what (is) in the breasts٧
If you disbelieve, then verily, Allah is not in need of you, He likes not disbelief for His slaves. And if you are grateful (by being believers), He is pleased therewith for you. No bearer of burdens shall bear the burden of another. Then to your Lord is your return, so He will inform you what you used to do. Verily, He is the All-Knower of that which is in (men's) breasts — English - Hilali & Khan
39:8
۞وَإِذَاwa-idhaAnd whenمَسَّmassatouchesٱلۡإِنسَٰنَal-insana[the] manضُرّٞdurrunadversityدَعَاda'ahe callsرَبَّهُۥrabbahuhis Lordمُنِيبًاmunibanturningإِلَيۡهِilayhito HimثُمَّthummathenإِذَاidhawhenخَوَّلَهُۥkhawwalahuHe bestows on himنِعۡمَةٗni'matana favorمِّنۡهُmin'hufrom Himselfنَسِيَnasiyahe forgetsمَاma(for) whatكَانَkanahe used to callيَدۡعُوٓاْyad'uhe used to callإِلَيۡهِilayhi[to] Himمِنminbeforeقَبۡلُqablubeforeوَجَعَلَwaja'alaand he sets upلِلَّهِlillahito Allahأَندَادٗاandadanrivalsلِّيُضِلَّliyudillato misleadعَنanfromسَبِيلِهِۦۚsabilihiHis PathقُلۡqulSayتَمَتَّعۡtamatta'Enjoyبِكُفۡرِكَbikuf'rikain your disbeliefقَلِيلًاqalilan(for) a littleإِنَّكَinnakaIndeed youمِنۡmin(are) ofأَصۡحَٰبِashabi(the) companionsٱلنَّارِal-nari(of) the Fire٨
wa-idha massa al-insana durrun da'a rabbahu muniban ilayhi thumma idha khawwalahu ni'matan min'hu nasiya ma kana yad'u ilayhi min qablu waja'ala lillahi andadan liyudilla an sabilihi qul tamatta' bikuf'rika qalilan innaka min ashabi al-nari — Transliteration
And when some hurt touches man, he cries to his Lord (Allah Alone), turning to Him in repentance, but when He bestows a favour upon him from Himself, he forgets that for which he cried for before, and he sets up rivals to Allah, in order to mislead others from His Path. Say: "Take pleasure in your disbelief for a while: surely, you are (one) of the dwellers of the Fire — English - Hilali & Khan
39:9
أَمَّنۡammanIs (one) whoهُوَhuwa[he]قَٰنِتٌqanitun(is) devoutly obedient ءَانَآءَanaa(during) hoursٱلَّيۡلِal-layli(of) the nightسَاجِدٗاsajidanprostratingوَقَآئِمٗاwaqaimanand standingيَحۡذَرُyahdharufearingٱلۡأٓخِرَةَal-akhiratathe Hereafterوَيَرۡجُواْwayarjuand hopingرَحۡمَةَrahmata(for the) Mercyرَبِّهِۦۗrabbihi(of) his Lord?قُلۡqulSayهَلۡhalAreيَسۡتَوِيyastawiequalٱلَّذِينَalladhinathose whoيَعۡلَمُونَya'lamunaknowوَٱلَّذِينَwa-alladhinaand those whoلَاla(do) notيَعۡلَمُونَۗya'lamunaknow?إِنَّمَاinnamaOnlyيَتَذَكَّرُyatadhakkaruwill take heedأُوْلُواْuluthose of understandingٱلۡأَلۡبَٰبِal-albabithose of understanding٩
amman huwa qanitun anaa al-layli sajidan waqaiman yahdharu al-akhirata wayarju rahmata rabbihi qul hal yastawi alladhina ya'lamuna wa-alladhina la ya'lamuna innama yatadhakkaru ulu al-albabi — Transliteration
Is one who is obedient to Allah, prostrating himself or standing (in prayer) during the hours of the night, fearing the Hereafter and hoping for the Mercy of his Lord (like one who disbelieves)? Say: "Are those who know equal to those who know not?" It is only men of understanding who will remember (i.e. get a lesson from Allah's Signs and Verses) — English - Hilali & Khan
39:10
قُلۡqulSayيَٰعِبَادِya'ibadiO My slavesٱلَّذِينَalladhina[those] whoءَامَنُواْamanubelieve!ٱتَّقُواْittaquFearرَبَّكُمۡۚrabbakumyour LordلِلَّذِينَlilladhinaFor those whoأَحۡسَنُواْahsanudo goodفِيfiinهَٰذِهِhadhihithisٱلدُّنۡيَاal-dun'yaworldحَسَنَةٞۗhasanatun(is) goodوَأَرۡضُwa-arduand the earthٱللَّهِal-lahi(of) Allahوَٰسِعَةٌۗwasi'atun(is) spaciousإِنَّمَاinnamaOnlyيُوَفَّىyuwaffawill be paid back in fullٱلصَّٰبِرُونَal-sabirunathe patient onesأَجۡرَهُمajrahumtheir rewardبِغَيۡرِbighayriwithoutحِسَابٖhisabinaccount١٠
Say (O Muhammad SAW): "O My slaves who believe (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism), be afraid of your Lord (Allah) and keep your duty to Him. Good is (the reward) for those who do good in this world, and Allah's earth is spacious (so if you cannot worship Allah at a place, then go to another)! Only those who are patient shall receive their rewards in full, without reckoning — English - Hilali & Khan
