ain-seen-qaf
— Transliteration
Ain-Sin-Qaf. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings

42:3
كَذَٰلِكَ kadhalika Thus يُوحِيٓ yuhi reveals إِلَيۡكَ ilayka to you وَإِلَى wa-ila and to ٱلَّذِينَ alladhina those مِن min before you قَبۡلِكَ qablika before you ٱللَّهُ al-lahu Allah ٱلۡعَزِيزُ al-'azizu the AllMighty ٱلۡحَكِيمُ al-hakimu the AllWise ٣
kadhalika yuhi ilayka wa-ila alladhina min qablika al-lahu al-'azizu al-hakimu
— Transliteration
Likewise Allah, the All-Mighty, the All-Wise inspires you (O Muhammad SAW) as (He inspired) those before you

42:4
لَهُۥ lahu To Him مَا ma (belong) whatever فِي fi (is) in ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ al-samawati the heavens وَمَا wama and whatever فِي fi (is) in ٱلۡأَرۡضِۖ al-ardi the earth وَهُوَ wahuwa and He ٱلۡعَلِيُّ al-'aliyu (is) the Most High ٱلۡعَظِيمُ al-'azimu the Most Great ٤
lahu ma fi al-samawati wama fi al-ardi wahuwa al-'aliyu al-'azimu
— Transliteration
To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth, and He is the Most High, the Most Great

42:5
تَكَادُ takadu Almost ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتُ al-samawatu the heavens يَتَفَطَّرۡنَ yatafattarna break up مِن min from فَوۡقِهِنَّۚ fawqihinna above them وَٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ wal-malaikatu and the Angels يُسَبِّحُونَ yusabbihuna glorify بِحَمۡدِ bihamdi (the) praise رَبِّهِمۡ rabbihim (of) their Lord وَيَسۡتَغۡفِرُونَ wayastaghfiruna and ask for forgiveness لِمَن liman for those فِي fi on ٱلۡأَرۡضِۗ al-ardi the earth أَلَآ ala Unquestionably إِنَّ inna indeed ٱللَّهَ al-laha Allah هُوَ huwa He ٱلۡغَفُورُ al-ghafuru (is) the OftForgiving ٱلرَّحِيمُ al-rahimu the Most Merciful ٥
takadu al-samawatu yatafattarna min fawqihinna wal-malaikatu yusabbihuna bihamdi rabbihim wayastaghfiruna liman fi al-ardi ala inna al-laha huwa al-ghafuru al-rahimu
— Transliteration
Nearly the heavens might rent asunder from above them (by His Majesty), and the angels glorify the praises of their Lord, and ask for forgiveness for those on the earth, verily, Allah is the Oft-Forgiving, the Most Merciful

42:6
وَٱلَّذِينَ wa-alladhina And those who ٱتَّخَذُواْ ittakhadhu take مِن min besides دُونِهِۦٓ dunihi besides أَوۡلِيَآءَ awliyaa protectors ٱللَّهُ al-lahu Allah حَفِيظٌ hafizun (is) a Guardian عَلَيۡهِمۡ alayhim over them وَمَآ wama and not أَنتَ anta you عَلَيۡهِم alayhim (are) over them بِوَكِيلٖ biwakilin a manager ٦
wa-alladhina ittakhadhu min dunihi awliyaa al-lahu hafizun alayhim wama anta alayhim biwakilin
— Transliteration
And as for those who take as Auliya' (guardians, supporters, helpers, protectors, etc.) others besides Him [i.e. they take false deities other than Allah (as) protectors, and they worship them] Allah is Hafiz (Protector) over them (i.e. takes care of their deeds and will recompense them), and you (O Muhammad SAW) are not a Wakil (guardian or a disposer of their affairs) over them (to protect their deeds, etc)

42:7
وَكَذَٰلِكَ wakadhalika And thus أَوۡحَيۡنَآ awhayna We have revealed إِلَيۡكَ ilayka to you قُرۡءَانًا qur'anan a Quran عَرَبِيّٗا arabiyyan (in) Arabic لِّتُنذِرَ litundhira that you may warn أُمَّ umma (the) mother ٱلۡقُرَىٰ al-qura (of) the towns وَمَنۡ waman and whoever حَوۡلَهَا hawlaha (is) around it وَتُنذِرَ watundhira and warn يَوۡمَ yawma (of the) Day ٱلۡجَمۡعِ al-jam'i (of) Assembly لَا la (there is) no رَيۡبَ rayba doubt فِيهِۚ fihi in it فَرِيقٞ fariqun A party فِي fi (will be) in ٱلۡجَنَّةِ al-janati Paradise وَفَرِيقٞ wafariqun and a party فِي fi in ٱلسَّعِيرِ al-sa'iri the Blazing Fire ٧
wakadhalika awhayna ilayka qur'anan arabiyyan litundhira umma al-qura waman hawlaha watundhira yawma al-jam'i la rayba fihi fariqun fi al-janati wafariqun fi al-sa'iri
— Transliteration
And thus We have inspired unto you (O Muhammad SAW) a Quran (in Arabic) that you may warn the Mother of the Towns (Makkah) and all around it. And warn of the Day of Assembling, of which there is no doubt, when a party will be in Paradise (those who believed in Allah and followed what Allah's Messenger SAW brought them) and a party in the blazing Fire (Hell) (those who disbelieved in Allah and followed not what Allah's Messenger SAW brought them)

42:8
وَلَوۡ walaw And if شَآءَ shaa Allah willed ٱللَّهُ al-lahu Allah willed لَجَعَلَهُمۡ laja'alahum He could have made them أُمَّةٗ ummatan a community وَٰحِدَةٗ wahidatan one وَلَٰكِن walakin but يُدۡخِلُ yud'khilu He admits مَن man whom يَشَآءُ yashau He wills فِي fi in (to) رَحۡمَتِهِۦۚ rahmatihi His Mercy وَٱلظَّٰلِمُونَ wal-zalimuna And the wrongdoers مَا ma not لَهُم lahum for them مِّن min any وَلِيّٖ waliyyin protector وَلَا wala and not نَصِيرٍ nasirin any helper ٨
walaw shaa al-lahu laja'alahum ummatan wahidatan walakin yud'khilu man yashau fi rahmatihi wal-zalimuna ma lahum min waliyyin wala nasirin
— Transliteration
And if Allah had willed, He could have made them one nation, but He admits whom He wills to His Mercy. And the Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers, etc.) will have neither a Wali (protector) nor a helper

42:9
أَمِ ami Or ٱتَّخَذُواْ ittakhadhu have they taken مِن min besides Him دُونِهِۦٓ dunihi besides Him أَوۡلِيَآءَۖ awliyaa protectors? فَٱللَّهُ fal-lahu But Allah هُوَ huwa He ٱلۡوَلِيُّ al-waliyu (is) the Protector وَهُوَ wahuwa and He يُحۡيِ yuh'yi gives life ٱلۡمَوۡتَىٰ al-mawta (to) the dead وَهُوَ wahuwa And He عَلَىٰ ala (is) on كُلِّ kulli every شَيۡءٖ shayin thing قَدِيرٞ qadirun AllPowerful ٩
ami ittakhadhu min dunihi awliyaa fal-lahu huwa al-waliyu wahuwa yuh'yi al-mawta wahuwa ala kulli shayin qadirun
— Transliteration
Or have they taken (for worship) Auliya' (guardians, supporters, helpers, protectors, etc.) besides Him? But Allah, He Alone is the Wali (Protector, etc.). And it is He Who gives life to the dead, and He is Able to do all things

42:10
وَمَا wama And whatever ٱخۡتَلَفۡتُمۡ ikh'talaftum you differ فِيهِ fihi in it مِن min of شَيۡءٖ shayin a thing فَحُكۡمُهُۥٓ fahuk'muhu then its ruling إِلَى ila (is) to ٱللَّهِۚ al-lahi Allah ذَٰلِكُمُ dhalikumu That ٱللَّهُ al-lahu (is) Allah رَبِّي rabbi my Lord عَلَيۡهِ alayhi upon Him تَوَكَّلۡتُ tawakkaltu I put my trust وَإِلَيۡهِ wa-ilayhi and to Him أُنِيبُ unibu I turn ١٠
wama ikh'talaftum fihi min shayin fahuk'muhu ila al-lahi dhalikumu al-lahu rabbi alayhi tawakkaltu wa-ilayhi unibu
— Transliteration
And in whatsoever you differ, the decision thereof is with Allah (He is the ruling Judge). (And say O Muhammad SAW to these polytheists:) Such is Allah, my Lord in Whom I put my trust, and to Him I turn in all of my affairs and in repentance
