6:1
ٱلۡحَمۡدُal-hamdu(All) the praises and thanksلِلَّهِlillahi(be) to Allahٱلَّذِيalladhithe One Whoخَلَقَkhalaqacreatedٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِal-samawatithe heavensوَٱلۡأَرۡضَwal-ardaand the earthوَجَعَلَwaja'alaand madeٱلظُّلُمَٰتِal-zulumatithe darkness[es]وَٱلنُّورَۖwal-nuraand the lightثُمَّthummaThenٱلَّذِينَalladhinathose whoكَفَرُواْkafarudisbelievedبِرَبِّهِمۡbirabbihimin their Lordيَعۡدِلُونَya'dilunaequate others with Him١
All praises and thanks be to Allah, Who (Alone) created the heavens and the earth, and originated the darkness and the light, yet those who disbelieve hold others as equal with their Lord — English - Hilali & Khan
6:2
هُوَhuwaHeٱلَّذِيalladhi(is) the One Whoخَلَقَكُمkhalaqakumcreated youمِّنminfromطِينٖtininclayثُمَّthummathenقَضَىٰٓqadaHe decreedأَجَلٗاۖajalana term وَأَجَلٞwa-ajalunand a termمُّسَمًّىmusammanspecifiedعِندَهُۥۖindahuwith Himثُمَّthummayetأَنتُمۡantumyouتَمۡتَرُونَtamtarunadoubt٢
huwa alladhi khalaqakum min tinin thumma qada ajalan wa-ajalun musamman indahu thumma antum tamtaruna — Transliteration
He it is Who has created you from clay, and then has decreed a stated term (for you to die). And there is with Him another determined term (for you to be resurrected), yet you doubt (in the Resurrection) — English - Hilali & Khan
6:3
وَهُوَwahuwaAnd Heٱللَّهُal-lahu(is) Allahفِيfiinٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِal-samawatithe heavensوَفِيwafiand inٱلۡأَرۡضِal-ardithe earthيَعۡلَمُya'lamuHe knowsسِرَّكُمۡsirrakumyour secretوَجَهۡرَكُمۡwajahrakumand what you make publicوَيَعۡلَمُwaya'lamuand He knowsمَاmawhatتَكۡسِبُونَtaksibunayou earn٣
wahuwa al-lahu fi al-samawati wafi al-ardi ya'lamu sirrakum wajahrakum waya'lamu ma taksibuna — Transliteration
And He is Allah (to be worshipped Alone) in the heavens and on the earth, He knows what you conceal and what you reveal, and He knows what you earn (good or bad) — English - Hilali & Khan
6:4
وَمَاwamaAnd notتَأۡتِيهِمtatihimcomes to themمِّنۡmin[of]ءَايَةٖayatinany signمِّنۡminfromءَايَٰتِayati(the) Signsرَبِّهِمۡrabbihim(of) their Lordإِلَّاillabutكَانُواْkanuthey areعَنۡهَاanhafrom itمُعۡرِضِينَmu'ridinaturning away٤
wama tatihim min ayatin min ayati rabbihim illa kanu anha mu'ridina — Transliteration
And never an Ayah (sign) comes to them from the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) of their Lord, but that they have been turning away from it — English - Hilali & Khan
6:5
فَقَدۡfaqadThen indeedكَذَّبُواْkadhabuthey deniedبِٱلۡحَقِّbil-haqithe truthلَمَّاlammawhenجَآءَهُمۡjaahumit came to themفَسَوۡفَfasawfabut soonيَأۡتِيهِمۡyatihimwill come to themأَنۢبَٰٓؤُاْanbaunewsمَاma(of) whatكَانُواْkanuthey used toبِهِۦbihi[at it]يَسۡتَهۡزِءُونَyastahziunamock٥
Indeed, they rejected the truth (the Quran and Muhammad SAW) when it came to them, but there will come to them the news of that (the torment) which they used to mock at — English - Hilali & Khan
6:6
أَلَمۡalamDid notيَرَوۡاْyarawthey seeكَمۡkamhow manyأَهۡلَكۡنَاahlaknaWe destroyedمِنminfromقَبۡلِهِمqablihimbefore themمِّنminofقَرۡنٖqarningenerationsمَّكَّنَّٰهُمۡmakkannahumWe had established themفِيfiinٱلۡأَرۡضِal-ardithe earthمَاmawhatلَمۡlamnotنُمَكِّنnumakkinWe (have) establishedلَّكُمۡlakumfor you?وَأَرۡسَلۡنَاwa-arsalnaAnd We sentٱلسَّمَآءَal-samaa(rain from) the skyعَلَيۡهِمalayhimupon themمِّدۡرَارٗاmid'raranshowering abundantlyوَجَعَلۡنَاwaja'alnaand We madeٱلۡأَنۡهَٰرَal-anharathe riversتَجۡرِيtajriflowمِنminfromتَحۡتِهِمۡtahtihimunderneath themفَأَهۡلَكۡنَٰهُمfa-ahlaknahumThen We destroyed themبِذُنُوبِهِمۡbidhunubihimfor their sinsوَأَنشَأۡنَاwa-anshanaand We raisedمِنۢminfromبَعۡدِهِمۡba'dihimafter themقَرۡنًاqarnangenerationsءَاخَرِينَakharinaother٦
alam yaraw kam ahlakna min qablihim min qarnin makkannahum fi al-ardi ma lam numakkin lakum wa-arsalna al-samaa alayhim mid'raran waja'alna al-anhara tajri min tahtihim fa-ahlaknahum bidhunubihim wa-anshana min ba'dihim qarnan akharina — Transliteration
Have they not seen how many a generation before them We have destroyed whom We had established on the earth such as We have not established you? And We poured out on them rain from the sky in abundance, and made the rivers flow under them. Yet We destroyed them for their sins, and created after them other generations — English - Hilali & Khan
6:7
وَلَوۡwalawAnd (even) ifنَزَّلۡنَاnazzalnaWe (had) sent downعَلَيۡكَalaykato youكِتَٰبٗاkitabana written Scriptureفِيfiinقِرۡطَاسٖqir'tasina parchmentفَلَمَسُوهُfalamasuhuand they touched itبِأَيۡدِيهِمۡbi-aydihimwith their handsلَقَالَlaqalasurely (would) have saidٱلَّذِينَalladhinathose whoكَفَرُوٓاْkafarudisbelievedإِنۡinNotهَٰذَآhadha(is) thisإِلَّاillabutسِحۡرٞsih'runmagicمُّبِينٞmubinunclear٧
walaw nazzalna alayka kitaban fi qir'tasin falamasuhu bi-aydihim laqala alladhina kafaru in hadha illa sih'run mubinun — Transliteration
And even if We had sent down unto you (O Muhammad SAW) a Message written on paper so that they could touch it with their hands, the disbelievers would have said: "This is nothing but obvious magic — English - Hilali & Khan
6:8
وَقَالُواْwaqaluAnd they saidلَوۡلَآlawlaWhy has not beenأُنزِلَunzilasent downعَلَيۡهِalayhito himمَلَكٞۖmalakunan Angel?وَلَوۡwalawAnd ifأَنزَلۡنَاanzalnaWe (had) sent downمَلَكٗاmalakanan Angelلَّقُضِيَlaqudiyasurely (would) have been decidedٱلۡأَمۡرُal-amruthe matterثُمَّthummathenلَاlanoيُنظَرُونَyunzarunarespite would have been granted to them٨
waqalu lawla unzila alayhi malakun walaw anzalna malakan laqudiya al-amru thumma la yunzaruna — Transliteration
And they say: "Why has not an angel been sent down to him?" Had We sent down an angel, the matter would have been judged at once, and no respite would be granted to them — English - Hilali & Khan

6:9
وَلَوۡwalawAnd ifجَعَلۡنَٰهُja'alnahuWe had made himمَلَكٗاmalakanan Angelلَّجَعَلۡنَٰهُlaja'alnahucertainly We (would) have made himرَجُلٗاrajulana manوَلَلَبَسۡنَاwalalabasnaand certainly We (would) have obscuredعَلَيۡهِمalayhimto themمَّاmawhatيَلۡبِسُونَyalbisunathey are obscuring٩
And had We appointed him an angel, We indeed would have made him a man, and We would have certainly caused them confusion in a matter which they have already covered with confusion (i.e. the Message of Prophet Muhammad SAW) — English - Hilali & Khan
6:10
وَلَقَدِwalaqadiAnd indeedٱسۡتُهۡزِئَus'tuh'zi-awere mockedبِرُسُلٖbirusulinMessengersمِّنminfromقَبۡلِكَqablikabefore youفَحَاقَfahaqabut surroundedبِٱلَّذِينَbi-alladhinathose whoسَخِرُواْsakhiruscoffedمِنۡهُمmin'humof themمَّاmawhatكَانُواْkanuthey used toبِهِۦbihi[at it]يَسۡتَهۡزِءُونَyastahziunamock١٠
walaqadi us'tuh'zi-a birusulin min qablika fahaqa bi-alladhina sakhiru min'hum ma kanu bihi yastahziuna — Transliteration
And indeed (many) Messengers were mocked before you, but their scoffers were surrounded by the very thing that they used to mock at — English - Hilali & Khan
