44:1
حمٓ ha-meem Ha Meem ١
ha-meem
— Transliteration
Ha-Mim. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings

44:2
وَٱلۡكِتَٰبِ wal-kitabi By the Book ٱلۡمُبِينِ al-mubini the clear ٢
wal-kitabi al-mubini
— Transliteration
By the manifest Book (this Quran) that makes things clear

44:3
إِنَّآ inna Indeed We أَنزَلۡنَٰهُ anzalnahu revealed it فِي fi in لَيۡلَةٖ laylatin a Night مُّبَٰرَكَةٍۚ mubarakatin Blessed إِنَّا inna Indeed We كُنَّا kunna [We] are مُنذِرِينَ mundhirina (ever) warning ٣
inna anzalnahu fi laylatin mubarakatin inna kunna mundhirina
— Transliteration
We sent it (this Quran) down on a blessed night [(i.e. night of Qadr, Surah No: 97) in the month of Ramadan,, the 9th month of the Islamic calendar]. Verily, We are ever warning [mankind that Our Torment will reach those who disbelieve in Our Oneness of Lordship and in Our Oneness of worship]

44:4
فِيهَا fiha Therein يُفۡرَقُ yuf'raqu is made distinct كُلُّ kullu every أَمۡرٍ amrin affair حَكِيمٍ hakimin wise ٤
fiha yuf'raqu kullu amrin hakimin
— Transliteration
Therein (that night) is decreed every matter of ordainments

44:5
أَمۡرٗا amran A command مِّنۡ min from عِندِنَآۚ indina Us إِنَّا inna Indeed We كُنَّا kunna [We] are مُرۡسِلِينَ mur'silina (ever) sending ٥
amran min indina inna kunna mur'silina
— Transliteration
Amran (i.e. a Command or this Quran or the Decree of every matter) from Us. Verily, We are ever sending (the Messengers)

44:6
رَحۡمَةٗ rahmatan As Mercy مِّن min from رَّبِّكَۚ rabbika your Lord إِنَّهُۥ innahu Indeed He هُوَ huwa [He] ٱلسَّمِيعُ al-sami'u (is) the AllHearer ٱلۡعَلِيمُ al-'alimu the AllKnower ٦
rahmatan min rabbika innahu huwa al-sami'u al-'alimu
— Transliteration
(As) a Mercy from your Lord. Verily! He is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower

44:7
رَبِّ rabbi Lord ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ al-samawati (of) the heavens وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ wal-ardi and the earth وَمَا wama and whatever بَيۡنَهُمَآۖ baynahuma (is) between both of them إِن in if كُنتُم kuntum you are مُّوقِنِينَ muqinina certain ٧
rabbi al-samawati wal-ardi wama baynahuma in kuntum muqinina
— Transliteration
The Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, if you (but) have a faith with certainty

44:8
لَآ la (There is) no إِلَٰهَ ilaha god إِلَّا illa except هُوَ huwa Him يُحۡيِۦ yuh'yi He gives life وَيُمِيتُۖ wayumitu and causes death رَبُّكُمۡ rabbukum your Lord وَرَبُّ warabbu and (the) Lord ءَابَآئِكُمُ abaikumu (of) your fathers ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ al-awalina the former ٨
la ilaha illa huwa yuh'yi wayumitu rabbukum warabbu abaikumu al-awalina
— Transliteration
La ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He). It is He Who gives life and causes death, your Lord and the Lord of your fore-fathers

44:9
بَلۡ bal Nay هُمۡ hum they فِي fi (are) in شَكّٖ shakkin doubt يَلۡعَبُونَ yal'abuna playing ٩
bal hum fi shakkin yal'abuna
— Transliteration
Nay! They play in doubt

44:10
فَٱرۡتَقِبۡ fa-ir'taqib Then watch يَوۡمَ yawma (for the) Day تَأۡتِي tati (when) will bring ٱلسَّمَآءُ al-samau the sky بِدُخَانٖ bidukhanin smoke مُّبِينٖ mubinin visible ١٠
fa-ir'taqib yawma tati al-samau bidukhanin mubinin
— Transliteration
Then wait you for the Day when the sky will bring forth a visible smoke
