36:1
يسٓ ya-seen Ya Seen ١
ya-seen
— Transliteration
Ya-Sin. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings

36:2
وَٱلۡقُرۡءَانِ wal-qur'ani By the Quran ٱلۡحَكِيمِ al-hakimi the Wise ٢
wal-qur'ani al-hakimi
— Transliteration
By the Quran, full of wisdom (i.e. full of laws, evidences, and proofs)

36:3
إِنَّكَ innaka Indeed you لَمِنَ lamina (are) among ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِينَ al-mur'salina the Messengers ٣
innaka lamina al-mur'salina
— Transliteration
Truly, you (O Muhammad SAW) are one of the Messengers

36:4
عَلَىٰ ala On صِرَٰطٖ siratin a Path مُّسۡتَقِيمٖ mus'taqimin Straight ٤
ala siratin mus'taqimin
— Transliteration
On a Straight Path (i.e. on Allah's religion of Islamic Monotheism)

36:5
تَنزِيلَ tanzila A revelation ٱلۡعَزِيزِ al-'azizi (of) the AllMighty ٱلرَّحِيمِ al-rahimi the Most Merciful ٥
tanzila al-'azizi al-rahimi
— Transliteration
(This is) a Revelation sent down by the AllMighty, the Most Merciful

36:6
لِتُنذِرَ litundhira That you may warn قَوۡمٗا qawman a people مَّآ ma not أُنذِرَ undhira were warned ءَابَآؤُهُمۡ abauhum their forefathers فَهُمۡ fahum so they غَٰفِلُونَ ghafiluna (are) heedless ٦
litundhira qawman ma undhira abauhum fahum ghafiluna
— Transliteration
In order that you may warn a people whose forefathers were not warned, so they are heedless

36:7
لَقَدۡ laqad Certainly حَقَّ haqqa (has) proved true ٱلۡقَوۡلُ al-qawlu the word عَلَىٰٓ ala upon أَكۡثَرِهِمۡ aktharihim most of them فَهُمۡ fahum so they لَا la (do) not يُؤۡمِنُونَ yu'minuna believe ٧
laqad haqqa al-qawlu ala aktharihim fahum la yu'minuna
— Transliteration
Indeed the Word (of punishment) has proved true against most of them, so they will not believe

36:8
إِنَّا inna Indeed We جَعَلۡنَا ja'alna [We] have placed فِيٓ fi on أَعۡنَٰقِهِمۡ a'naqihim their necks أَغۡلَٰلٗا aghlalan iron collars فَهِيَ fahiya and they إِلَى ila (are up) to ٱلۡأَذۡقَانِ al-adhqani the chins فَهُم fahum so they مُّقۡمَحُونَ muq'mahuna (are with) heads raised up ٨
inna ja'alna fi a'naqihim aghlalan fahiya ila al-adhqani fahum muq'mahuna
— Transliteration
Verily! We have put on their necks iron collars reaching to chins, so that their heads are forced up

36:9
وَجَعَلۡنَا waja'alna And We have made مِنۢ min before them بَيۡنِ bayni before them أَيۡدِيهِمۡ aydihim before them سَدّٗا saddan a barrier وَمِنۡ wamin and behind them خَلۡفِهِمۡ khalfihim and behind them سَدّٗا saddan a barrier فَأَغۡشَيۡنَٰهُمۡ fa-aghshaynahum and We covered them فَهُمۡ fahum so they لَا la (do) not يُبۡصِرُونَ yub'siruna see ٩
waja'alna min bayni aydihim saddan wamin khalfihim saddan fa-aghshaynahum fahum la yub'siruna
— Transliteration
And We have put a barrier before them, and a barrier behind them, and We have covered them up, so that they cannot see

36:10
وَسَوَآءٌ wasawaon And it (is) same عَلَيۡهِمۡ alayhim to them ءَأَنذَرۡتَهُمۡ a-andhartahum whether you warn them أَمۡ am or لَمۡ lam (do) not تُنذِرۡهُمۡ tundhir'hum warn them لَا la not يُؤۡمِنُونَ yu'minuna they will believe ١٠
wasawaon alayhim a-andhartahum am lam tundhir'hum la yu'minuna
— Transliteration
It is the same to them whether you warn them or you warn them not, they will not believe

Yaseen (Yaseen)
