13:1
الٓمٓرۚ alif-lam-meem-ra Alif Laam Mim Ra تِلۡكَ til'ka These ءَايَٰتُ ayatu (are) the Verses ٱلۡكِتَٰبِۗ al-kitabi (of) the Book وَٱلَّذِيٓ wa-alladhi And that which أُنزِلَ unzila has been revealed إِلَيۡكَ ilayka to you مِن min from رَّبِّكَ rabbika your Lord ٱلۡحَقُّ al-haqu (is) the truth وَلَٰكِنَّ walakinna but أَكۡثَرَ akthara most ٱلنَّاسِ al-nasi (of) the mankind لَا la (do) not يُؤۡمِنُونَ yu'minuna believe ١
alif-lam-meem-ra til'ka ayatu al-kitabi wa-alladhi unzila ilayka min rabbika al-haqu walakinna akthara al-nasi la yu'minuna
— Transliteration
Alif-Lam-Mim-Ra [These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings]. These are the Verses of the Book (the Quran), and that which has been revealed unto you (Muhammad SAW) from your Lord is the truth, but most men believe not

13:2
ٱللَّهُ al-lahu Allah ٱلَّذِي alladhi (is) the One Who رَفَعَ rafa'a raised ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ al-samawati the heavens بِغَيۡرِ bighayri without عَمَدٖ amadin pillars تَرَوۡنَهَاۖ tarawnaha that you see ثُمَّ thumma then ٱسۡتَوَىٰ is'tawa He established عَلَى ala on ٱلۡعَرۡشِۖ al-'arshi the Throne وَسَخَّرَ wasakhara and subjected ٱلشَّمۡسَ al-shamsa the sun وَٱلۡقَمَرَۖ wal-qamara and the moon كُلّٞ kullun each يَجۡرِي yajri running لِأَجَلٖ li-ajalin for a term مُّسَمّٗىۚ musamman appointed يُدَبِّرُ yudabbiru He arranges ٱلۡأَمۡرَ al-amra the matter يُفَصِّلُ yufassilu He details ٱلۡأٓيَٰتِ al-ayati the Signs لَعَلَّكُم la'allakum so that you may بِلِقَآءِ biliqai in the meeting رَبِّكُمۡ rabbikum (with) your Lord تُوقِنُونَ tuqinuna believe with certainty ٢
al-lahu alladhi rafa'a al-samawati bighayri amadin tarawnaha thumma is'tawa ala al-'arshi wasakhara al-shamsa wal-qamara kullun yajri li-ajalin musamman yudabbiru al-amra yufassilu al-ayati la'allakum biliqai rabbikum tuqinuna
— Transliteration
Allah is He Who raised the heavens without any pillars that you can see. Then, He Istawa (rose above) the Throne (really in a manner that suits His Majesty). He has subjected the sun and the moon (to continue going round)! Each running (its course) for a term appointed. He regulates all affairs, explaining the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) in detail, that you may believe with certainty in the meeting with your Lord

13:3
وَهُوَ wahuwa And He ٱلَّذِي alladhi (is) the One Who مَدَّ madda spread ٱلۡأَرۡضَ al-arda the earth وَجَعَلَ waja'ala and placed فِيهَا fiha in it رَوَٰسِيَ rawasiya firm mountains وَأَنۡهَٰرٗاۖ wa-anharan and rivers وَمِن wamin and from كُلِّ kulli all ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ al-thamarati (of) the fruits جَعَلَ ja'ala He made فِيهَا fiha in it زَوۡجَيۡنِ zawjayni pairs ٱثۡنَيۡنِۖ ith'nayni two يُغۡشِي yugh'shi He covers ٱلَّيۡلَ al-layla the night ٱلنَّهَارَۚ al-nahara (with) the day إِنَّ inna Indeed فِي fi in ذَٰلِكَ dhalika that لَأٓيَٰتٖ laayatin surely (are) Signs لِّقَوۡمٖ liqawmin for a people يَتَفَكَّرُونَ yatafakkaruna who ponder ٣
wahuwa alladhi madda al-arda waja'ala fiha rawasiya wa-anharan wamin kulli al-thamarati ja'ala fiha zawjayni ith'nayni yugh'shi al-layla al-nahara inna fi dhalika laayatin liqawmin yatafakkaruna
— Transliteration
And it is He Who spread out the earth, and placed therein firm mountains and rivers and of every kind of fruits He made Zawjain Ithnain (two in pairs - may mean two kinds or it may mean: of two sorts, e.g. black and white, sweet and sour, small and big, etc.) He brings the night as a cover over the day. Verily, in these things, there are Ayat (proofs, evidences, lessons, signs, etc.) for people who reflect

13:4
وَفِي wafi And in ٱلۡأَرۡضِ al-ardi the earth قِطَعٞ qita'un are tracks مُّتَجَٰوِرَٰتٞ mutajawiratun neighboring وَجَنَّٰتٞ wajannatun and gardens مِّنۡ min of أَعۡنَٰبٖ a'nabin grapevines وَزَرۡعٞ wazar'un and crops وَنَخِيلٞ wanakhilun and datepalms صِنۡوَانٞ sin'wanun trees (growing) from a single root وَغَيۡرُ waghayru and not صِنۡوَانٖ sin'wanin trees (growing) from a single root يُسۡقَىٰ yus'qa watered بِمَآءٖ bimain with water وَٰحِدٖ wahidin one وَنُفَضِّلُ wanufaddilu but We cause to exceed بَعۡضَهَا ba'daha some of them عَلَىٰ ala over بَعۡضٖ ba'din others فِي fi in ٱلۡأُكُلِۚ al-ukuli the fruit إِنَّ inna Indeed فِي fi in ذَٰلِكَ dhalika that لَأٓيَٰتٖ laayatin surely (are) Signs لِّقَوۡمٖ liqawmin for a people يَعۡقِلُونَ ya'qiluna who use reason ٤
wafi al-ardi qita'un mutajawiratun wajannatun min a'nabin wazar'un wanakhilun sin'wanun waghayru sin'wanin yus'qa bimain wahidin wanufaddilu ba'daha ala ba'din fi al-ukuli inna fi dhalika laayatin liqawmin ya'qiluna
— Transliteration
And in the earth are neighbouring tracts, and gardens of vines, and green crops (fields etc.), and date-palms, growing out two or three from a single stem root, or otherwise (one stem root for every palm), watered with the same water, yet some of them We make more excellent than others to eat. Verily, in these things, there are Ayat (proofs, evidences, lessons, signs) for the people who understand

13:5
۞وَإِن wa-in And if تَعۡجَبۡ ta'jab you (are) astonished فَعَجَبٞ fa'ajabun then astonishing قَوۡلُهُمۡ qawluhum (is) their saying أَءِذَا a-idha When كُنَّا kunna we are تُرَٰبًا turaban dust أَءِنَّا a-inna will we لَفِي lafi (be) indeed in خَلۡقٖ khalqin a creation جَدِيدٍۗ jadidin new? أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ ulaika Those ٱلَّذِينَ alladhina (are) the ones who كَفَرُواْ kafaru disbelieved بِرَبِّهِمۡۖ birabbihim in their Lord وَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ wa-ulaika and those ٱلۡأَغۡلَٰلُ al-aghlalu the iron chains فِيٓ fi (will be) in أَعۡنَاقِهِمۡۖ a'naqihim their necks وَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ wa-ulaika those أَصۡحَٰبُ ashabu (are the) companions ٱلنَّارِۖ al-nari (of) the Fire هُمۡ hum they فِيهَا fiha in it خَٰلِدُونَ khaliduna (will) abide forever ٥
wa-in ta'jab fa'ajabun qawluhum a-idha kunna turaban a-inna lafi khalqin jadidin ulaika alladhina kafaru birabbihim wa-ulaika al-aghlalu fi a'naqihim wa-ulaika ashabu al-nari hum fiha khaliduna
— Transliteration
And if you (O Muhammad SAW) wonder (at these polytheists who deny your message of Islamic Monotheism and have taken besides Allah others for worship who can neither harm nor benefit), then wondrous is their saying: "When we are dust, shall we indeed then be (raised) in a new creation?" They are those who disbelieve in their Lord! They are those who will have iron chains tying their hands to their necks. They will be dwellers of the Fire to abide therein

13:6
وَيَسۡتَعۡجِلُونَكَ wayasta'jilunaka And they ask you to hasten بِٱلسَّيِّئَةِ bil-sayi-ati the evil قَبۡلَ qabla before ٱلۡحَسَنَةِ al-hasanati the good وَقَدۡ waqad and verily خَلَتۡ khalat has occurred مِن min from قَبۡلِهِمُ qablihimu before them ٱلۡمَثُلَٰتُۗ al-mathulatu [the] similar punishments وَإِنَّ wa-inna And indeed رَبَّكَ rabbaka your Lord لَذُو ladhu (is) full مَغۡفِرَةٖ maghfiratin (of) forgiveness لِّلنَّاسِ lilnnasi for mankind عَلَىٰ ala for ظُلۡمِهِمۡۖ zul'mihim their wrongdoing وَإِنَّ wa-inna and indeed رَبَّكَ rabbaka your Lord لَشَدِيدُ lashadidu (is) severe ٱلۡعِقَابِ al-'iqabi (in) the penalty ٦
wayasta'jilunaka bil-sayi-ati qabla al-hasanati waqad khalat min qablihimu al-mathulatu wa-inna rabbaka ladhu maghfiratin lilnnasi ala zul'mihim wa-inna rabbaka lashadidu al-'iqabi
— Transliteration
They ask you to hasten the evil before the good, yet (many) exemplary punishments have indeed occurred before them. But verily, your Lord is full of Forgiveness for mankind inspite of their wrong-doing. And verily, your Lord is (also) Severe in punishment

13:7
وَيَقُولُ wayaqulu And say ٱلَّذِينَ alladhina those who كَفَرُواْ kafaru disbelieved لَوۡلَآ lawla Why not أُنزِلَ unzila has been sent down عَلَيۡهِ alayhi to him ءَايَةٞ ayatun a sign مِّن min from رَّبِّهِۦٓۗ rabbihi his Lord? إِنَّمَآ innama Only أَنتَ anta you مُنذِرٞۖ mundhirun (are) a warner وَلِكُلِّ walikulli and for every قَوۡمٍ qawmin people هَادٍ hadin (is) a guide ٧
wayaqulu alladhina kafaru lawla unzila alayhi ayatun min rabbihi innama anta mundhirun walikulli qawmin hadin
— Transliteration
And the disbelievers say: "Why is not a sign sent down to him from his Lord?" You are only a warner, and to every people there is a guide

13:8
ٱللَّهُ al-lahu Allah يَعۡلَمُ ya'lamu knows مَا ma what تَحۡمِلُ tahmilu carries كُلُّ kullu every أُنثَىٰ untha female وَمَا wama and what تَغِيضُ taghidu fall short ٱلۡأَرۡحَامُ al-arhamu the womb وَمَا wama and what تَزۡدَادُۚ tazdadu they exceed وَكُلُّ wakullu And every شَيۡءٍ shayin thing عِندَهُۥ indahu with Him بِمِقۡدَارٍ bimiq'darin (is) in due proportion ٨
al-lahu ya'lamu ma tahmilu kullu untha wama taghidu al-arhamu wama tazdadu wakullu shayin indahu bimiq'darin
— Transliteration
Allah knows what every female bears, and by how much the wombs fall short (of their time or number) or exceed. Everything with Him is in (due) proportion

13:9
عَٰلِمُ alimu Knower ٱلۡغَيۡبِ al-ghaybi (of) the unseen وَٱلشَّهَٰدَةِ wal-shahadati and the witnessed ٱلۡكَبِيرُ al-kabiru the Most Great ٱلۡمُتَعَالِ al-muta'ali the Most High ٩
alimu al-ghaybi wal-shahadati al-kabiru al-muta'ali
— Transliteration
All-Knower of the unseen and the seen, the Most Great, the Most High

13:10
سَوَآءٞ sawaon (It is) same (to Him) مِّنكُم minkum [of you] مَّنۡ man (one) who أَسَرَّ asarra conceals ٱلۡقَوۡلَ al-qawla the speech وَمَن waman or (one) who جَهَرَ jahara publicizes بِهِۦ bihi it وَمَنۡ waman and (one) who هُوَ huwa [he] مُسۡتَخۡفِۭ mus'takhfin (is) hidden بِٱلَّيۡلِ bi-al-layli by night وَسَارِبُۢ wasaribun or goes freely بِٱلنَّهَارِ bil-nahari by day ١٠
sawaon minkum man asarra al-qawla waman jahara bihi waman huwa mus'takhfin bi-al-layli wasaribun bil-nahari
— Transliteration
It is the same (to Him) whether any of you conceal his speech or declare it openly, whether he be hid by night or go forth freely by day
