الٓمٓرۚalif-lam-meem-raAlif Laam Mim Raتِلۡكَtil'kaTheseءَايَٰتُayatu(are) the Versesٱلۡكِتَٰبِۗal-kitabi(of) the Bookوَٱلَّذِيٓwa-alladhiAnd that whichأُنزِلَunzilahas been revealedإِلَيۡكَilaykato youمِنminfromرَّبِّكَrabbikayour Lordٱلۡحَقُّal-haqu(is) the truthوَلَٰكِنَّwalakinnabutأَكۡثَرَaktharamostٱلنَّاسِal-nasi(of) the mankindلَاla(do) notيُؤۡمِنُونَyu'minunabelieve١
alif-lam-meem-ra til'ka ayatu al-kitabi wa-alladhi unzila ilayka min rabbika al-haqu walakinna akthara al-nasi la yu'minuna — Transliteration
Alif-Lam-Mim-Ra [These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings]. These are the Verses of the Book (the Quran), and that which has been revealed unto you (Muhammad SAW) from your Lord is the truth, but most men believe not — English - Hilali & Khan
13:2
ٱللَّهُal-lahuAllahٱلَّذِيalladhi(is) the One Whoرَفَعَrafa'araisedٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِal-samawatithe heavensبِغَيۡرِbighayriwithoutعَمَدٖamadinpillarsتَرَوۡنَهَاۖtarawnahathat you seeثُمَّthummathenٱسۡتَوَىٰis'tawaHe establishedعَلَىalaonٱلۡعَرۡشِۖal-'arshithe Throneوَسَخَّرَwasakharaand subjectedٱلشَّمۡسَal-shamsathe sunوَٱلۡقَمَرَۖwal-qamaraand the moonكُلّٞkulluneachيَجۡرِيyajrirunningلِأَجَلٖli-ajalinfor a termمُّسَمّٗىۚmusammanappointedيُدَبِّرُyudabbiruHe arrangesٱلۡأَمۡرَal-amrathe matterيُفَصِّلُyufassiluHe detailsٱلۡأٓيَٰتِal-ayatithe Signsلَعَلَّكُمla'allakumso that you mayبِلِقَآءِbiliqaiin the meetingرَبِّكُمۡrabbikum(with) your Lordتُوقِنُونَtuqinunabelieve with certainty٢
Allah is He Who raised the heavens without any pillars that you can see. Then, He Istawa (rose above) the Throne (really in a manner that suits His Majesty). He has subjected the sun and the moon (to continue going round)! Each running (its course) for a term appointed. He regulates all affairs, explaining the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) in detail, that you may believe with certainty in the meeting with your Lord — English - Hilali & Khan
13:3
وَهُوَwahuwaAnd Heٱلَّذِيalladhi(is) the One Whoمَدَّmaddaspreadٱلۡأَرۡضَal-ardathe earthوَجَعَلَwaja'alaand placedفِيهَاfihain itرَوَٰسِيَrawasiyafirm mountainsوَأَنۡهَٰرٗاۖwa-anharanand riversوَمِنwaminand fromكُلِّkulliallٱلثَّمَرَٰتِal-thamarati(of) the fruitsجَعَلَja'alaHe madeفِيهَاfihain itزَوۡجَيۡنِzawjaynipairsٱثۡنَيۡنِۖith'naynitwoيُغۡشِيyugh'shiHe coversٱلَّيۡلَal-laylathe nightٱلنَّهَارَۚal-nahara(with) the dayإِنَّinnaIndeedفِيfiinذَٰلِكَdhalikathatلَأٓيَٰتٖlaayatinsurely (are) Signsلِّقَوۡمٖliqawminfor a peopleيَتَفَكَّرُونَyatafakkarunawho ponder٣
wahuwa alladhi madda al-arda waja'ala fiha rawasiya wa-anharan wamin kulli al-thamarati ja'ala fiha zawjayni ith'nayni yugh'shi al-layla al-nahara inna fi dhalika laayatin liqawmin yatafakkaruna — Transliteration
And it is He Who spread out the earth, and placed therein firm mountains and rivers and of every kind of fruits He made Zawjain Ithnain (two in pairs - may mean two kinds or it may mean: of two sorts, e.g. black and white, sweet and sour, small and big, etc.) He brings the night as a cover over the day. Verily, in these things, there are Ayat (proofs, evidences, lessons, signs, etc.) for people who reflect — English - Hilali & Khan
13:4
وَفِيwafiAnd inٱلۡأَرۡضِal-ardithe earthقِطَعٞqita'unare tracksمُّتَجَٰوِرَٰتٞmutajawiratunneighboringوَجَنَّٰتٞwajannatunand gardensمِّنۡminofأَعۡنَٰبٖa'nabingrapevinesوَزَرۡعٞwazar'unand cropsوَنَخِيلٞwanakhilunand datepalmsصِنۡوَانٞsin'wanuntrees (growing) from a single rootوَغَيۡرُwaghayruand notصِنۡوَانٖsin'wanintrees (growing) from a single rootيُسۡقَىٰyus'qawateredبِمَآءٖbimainwith waterوَٰحِدٖwahidinoneوَنُفَضِّلُwanufaddilubut We cause to exceedبَعۡضَهَاba'dahasome of themعَلَىٰalaoverبَعۡضٖba'dinothersفِيfiinٱلۡأُكُلِۚal-ukulithe fruitإِنَّinnaIndeedفِيfiinذَٰلِكَdhalikathatلَأٓيَٰتٖlaayatinsurely (are) Signsلِّقَوۡمٖliqawminfor a peopleيَعۡقِلُونَya'qilunawho use reason٤
wafi al-ardi qita'un mutajawiratun wajannatun min a'nabin wazar'un wanakhilun sin'wanun waghayru sin'wanin yus'qa bimain wahidin wanufaddilu ba'daha ala ba'din fi al-ukuli inna fi dhalika laayatin liqawmin ya'qiluna — Transliteration
And in the earth are neighbouring tracts, and gardens of vines, and green crops (fields etc.), and date-palms, growing out two or three from a single stem root, or otherwise (one stem root for every palm), watered with the same water, yet some of them We make more excellent than others to eat. Verily, in these things, there are Ayat (proofs, evidences, lessons, signs) for the people who understand — English - Hilali & Khan
13:5
۞وَإِنwa-inAnd ifتَعۡجَبۡta'jabyou (are) astonishedفَعَجَبٞfa'ajabunthen astonishingقَوۡلُهُمۡqawluhum(is) their sayingأَءِذَاa-idhaWhenكُنَّاkunnawe areتُرَٰبًاturabandustأَءِنَّاa-innawill weلَفِيlafi(be) indeed inخَلۡقٖkhalqina creationجَدِيدٍۗjadidinnew?أُوْلَٰٓئِكَulaikaThoseٱلَّذِينَalladhina(are) the ones whoكَفَرُواْkafarudisbelievedبِرَبِّهِمۡۖbirabbihimin their Lordوَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَwa-ulaikaand thoseٱلۡأَغۡلَٰلُal-aghlaluthe iron chainsفِيٓfi(will be) inأَعۡنَاقِهِمۡۖa'naqihimtheir necksوَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَwa-ulaikathoseأَصۡحَٰبُashabu(are the) companionsٱلنَّارِۖal-nari(of) the Fireهُمۡhumtheyفِيهَاfihain itخَٰلِدُونَkhaliduna(will) abide forever٥
wa-in ta'jab fa'ajabun qawluhum a-idha kunna turaban a-inna lafi khalqin jadidin ulaika alladhina kafaru birabbihim wa-ulaika al-aghlalu fi a'naqihim wa-ulaika ashabu al-nari hum fiha khaliduna — Transliteration
And if you (O Muhammad SAW) wonder (at these polytheists who deny your message of Islamic Monotheism and have taken besides Allah others for worship who can neither harm nor benefit), then wondrous is their saying: "When we are dust, shall we indeed then be (raised) in a new creation?" They are those who disbelieve in their Lord! They are those who will have iron chains tying their hands to their necks. They will be dwellers of the Fire to abide therein — English - Hilali & Khan

وَيَسۡتَعۡجِلُونَكَwayasta'jilunakaAnd they ask you to hastenبِٱلسَّيِّئَةِbil-sayi-atithe evilقَبۡلَqablabeforeٱلۡحَسَنَةِal-hasanatithe goodوَقَدۡwaqadand verilyخَلَتۡkhalathas occurredمِنminfromقَبۡلِهِمُqablihimubefore themٱلۡمَثُلَٰتُۗal-mathulatu[the] similar punishmentsوَإِنَّwa-innaAnd indeedرَبَّكَrabbakayour Lordلَذُوladhu(is) fullمَغۡفِرَةٖmaghfiratin(of) forgivenessلِّلنَّاسِlilnnasifor mankindعَلَىٰalaforظُلۡمِهِمۡۖzul'mihimtheir wrongdoingوَإِنَّwa-innaand indeedرَبَّكَrabbakayour Lordلَشَدِيدُlashadidu(is) severeٱلۡعِقَابِal-'iqabi(in) the penalty٦
They ask you to hasten the evil before the good, yet (many) exemplary punishments have indeed occurred before them. But verily, your Lord is full of Forgiveness for mankind inspite of their wrong-doing. And verily, your Lord is (also) Severe in punishment — English - Hilali & Khan
13:7
وَيَقُولُwayaquluAnd sayٱلَّذِينَalladhinathose whoكَفَرُواْkafarudisbelievedلَوۡلَآlawlaWhy notأُنزِلَunzilahas been sent downعَلَيۡهِalayhito himءَايَةٞayatuna signمِّنminfromرَّبِّهِۦٓۗrabbihihis Lord?إِنَّمَآinnamaOnlyأَنتَantayouمُنذِرٞۖmundhirun(are) a warnerوَلِكُلِّwalikulliand for everyقَوۡمٍqawminpeopleهَادٍhadin(is) a guide٧
wayaqulu alladhina kafaru lawla unzila alayhi ayatun min rabbihi innama anta mundhirun walikulli qawmin hadin — Transliteration
And the disbelievers say: "Why is not a sign sent down to him from his Lord?" You are only a warner, and to every people there is a guide — English - Hilali & Khan
13:8
ٱللَّهُal-lahuAllahيَعۡلَمُya'lamuknowsمَاmawhatتَحۡمِلُtahmilucarriesكُلُّkullueveryأُنثَىٰunthafemaleوَمَاwamaand whatتَغِيضُtaghidufall shortٱلۡأَرۡحَامُal-arhamuthe wombوَمَاwamaand whatتَزۡدَادُۚtazdaduthey exceedوَكُلُّwakulluAnd everyشَيۡءٍshayinthingعِندَهُۥindahuwith Himبِمِقۡدَارٍbimiq'darin(is) in due proportion٨
Allah knows what every female bears, and by how much the wombs fall short (of their time or number) or exceed. Everything with Him is in (due) proportion — English - Hilali & Khan
13:9
عَٰلِمُalimuKnowerٱلۡغَيۡبِal-ghaybi(of) the unseenوَٱلشَّهَٰدَةِwal-shahadatiand the witnessedٱلۡكَبِيرُal-kabiruthe Most Greatٱلۡمُتَعَالِal-muta'alithe Most High٩
sawaon minkum man asarra al-qawla waman jahara bihi waman huwa mus'takhfin bi-al-layli wasaribun bil-nahari — Transliteration
It is the same (to Him) whether any of you conceal his speech or declare it openly, whether he be hid by night or go forth freely by day — English - Hilali & Khan
