20:1
طه ta-ha Ta Ha ١
ta-ha
— Transliteration
Ta-Ha. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings

20:2
مَآ ma Not أَنزَلۡنَا anzalna We (have) sent down عَلَيۡكَ alayka to you ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ al-qur'ana the Quran لِتَشۡقَىٰٓ litashqa that you be distressed ٢
ma anzalna alayka al-qur'ana litashqa
— Transliteration
We have not sent down the Quran unto you (O Muhammad SAW) to cause you distress

20:3
إِلَّا illa (But) تَذۡكِرَةٗ tadhkiratan (as) a reminder لِّمَن liman for (those) who يَخۡشَىٰ yakhsha fear ٣
illa tadhkiratan liman yakhsha
— Transliteration
But only as a Reminder to those who fear (Allah)

20:4
تَنزِيلٗا tanzilan A revelation مِّمَّنۡ mimman from (He) Who خَلَقَ khalaqa created ٱلۡأَرۡضَ al-arda the earth وَٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ wal-samawati and the heavens ٱلۡعُلَى al-'ula [the] high ٤
tanzilan mimman khalaqa al-arda wal-samawati al-'ula
— Transliteration
A revelation from Him (Allah) Who has created the earth and high heavens

20:5
ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنُ al-rahmanu The Most Gracious عَلَى ala over ٱلۡعَرۡشِ al-'arshi the Throne ٱسۡتَوَىٰ is'tawa is established ٥
al-rahmanu ala al-'arshi is'tawa
— Transliteration
The Most Beneficent (Allah) Istawa (rose over) the (Mighty) Throne (in a manner that suits His Majesty)

20:6
لَهُۥ lahu To Him (belongs) مَا ma whatever فِي fi (is) in ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ al-samawati the heavens وَمَا wama and whatever فِي fi (is) in ٱلۡأَرۡضِ al-ardi the earth وَمَا wama and whatever بَيۡنَهُمَا baynahuma (is) between them وَمَا wama and whatever تَحۡتَ tahta (is) under ٱلثَّرَىٰ al-thara the soil ٦
lahu ma fi al-samawati wama fi al-ardi wama baynahuma wama tahta al-thara
— Transliteration
To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is on the earth, and all that is between them, and all that is under the soil

20:7
وَإِن wa-in And if تَجۡهَرۡ tajhar you speak aloud بِٱلۡقَوۡلِ bil-qawli the word فَإِنَّهُۥ fa-innahu then indeed He يَعۡلَمُ ya'lamu knows ٱلسِّرَّ al-sira the secret وَأَخۡفَى wa-akhfa and the more hidden ٧
wa-in tajhar bil-qawli fa-innahu ya'lamu al-sira wa-akhfa
— Transliteration
And if you (O Muhammad SAW) speak (the invocation) aloud, then verily, He knows the secret and that which is yet more hidden

20:8
ٱللَّهُ al-lahu Allah لَآ la (there is) no إِلَٰهَ ilaha god إِلَّا illa except هُوَۖ huwa Him لَهُ lahu To Him (belong) ٱلۡأَسۡمَآءُ al-asmau the Names ٱلۡحُسۡنَىٰ al-hus'na the Most Beautiful ٨
al-lahu la ilaha illa huwa lahu al-asmau al-hus'na
— Transliteration
Allah! La ilahla illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He)! To Him belong the Best Names

20:9
وَهَلۡ wahal And has أَتَىٰكَ ataka come to you حَدِيثُ hadithu the narration مُوسَىٰٓ musa (of) Musa? ٩
wahal ataka hadithu musa
— Transliteration
And has there come to you the story of Musa (Moses)

20:10
إِذۡ idh When رَءَا raa he saw نَارٗا naran a fire فَقَالَ faqala then he said لِأَهۡلِهِ li-ahlihi to his family ٱمۡكُثُوٓاْ um'kuthu Stay here إِنِّيٓ inni indeed I ءَانَسۡتُ anastu [I] perceived نَارٗا naran a fire لَّعَلِّيٓ la'alli perhaps I (can) ءَاتِيكُم atikum bring you مِّنۡهَا min'ha therefrom بِقَبَسٍ biqabasin a burning brand أَوۡ aw or أَجِدُ ajidu I find عَلَى ala at ٱلنَّارِ al-nari the fire هُدٗى hudan guidance ١٠
idh raa naran faqala li-ahlihi um'kuthu inni anastu naran la'alli atikum min'ha biqabasin aw ajidu ala al-nari hudan
— Transliteration
When he saw a fire, he said to his family: "Wait! Verily, I have seen a fire, perhaps I can bring you some burning brand therefrom, or find some guidance at the fire
