76:1
هَلۡ hal Has أَتَىٰ ata (there) come عَلَى ala upon ٱلۡإِنسَٰنِ al-insani man حِينٞ hinun a period مِّنَ mina of ٱلدَّهۡرِ al-dahri time لَمۡ lam not يَكُن yakun he was شَيۡـٔٗا shayan a thing مَّذۡكُورًا madhkuran mentioned? ١
hal ata ala al-insani hinun mina al-dahri lam yakun shayan madhkuran
— Transliteration
Has there not been over man a period of time, when he was nothing to be mentioned

76:2
إِنَّا inna Indeed We خَلَقۡنَا khalaqna [We] created ٱلۡإِنسَٰنَ al-insana man مِن min from نُّطۡفَةٍ nut'fatin a semendrop أَمۡشَاجٖ amshajin a mixture نَّبۡتَلِيهِ nabtalihi (that) We test him فَجَعَلۡنَٰهُ faja'alnahu so We made (for) him سَمِيعَۢا sami'an hearing بَصِيرًا basiran and sight ٢
inna khalaqna al-insana min nut'fatin amshajin nabtalihi faja'alnahu sami'an basiran
— Transliteration
Verily, We have created man from Nutfah drops of mixed semen (discharge of man and woman), in order to try him, so We made him hearer, seer

76:3
إِنَّا inna Indeed We هَدَيۡنَٰهُ hadaynahu guided him ٱلسَّبِيلَ al-sabila (to) the way إِمَّا imma whether شَاكِرٗا shakiran (he) be grateful وَإِمَّا wa-imma and whether كَفُورًا kafuran (he) be ungrateful ٣
inna hadaynahu al-sabila imma shakiran wa-imma kafuran
— Transliteration
Verily, We showed him the way, whether he be grateful or ungrateful

76:4
إِنَّآ inna Indeed We أَعۡتَدۡنَا a'tadna [We] have prepared لِلۡكَٰفِرِينَ lil'kafirina for the disbelievers سَلَٰسِلَاْ salasila chains وَأَغۡلَٰلٗا wa-aghlalan and shackles وَسَعِيرًا wasa'iran and a Blazing Fire ٤
inna a'tadna lil'kafirina salasila wa-aghlalan wasa'iran
— Transliteration
Verily, We have prepared for the disbelievers iron chains, iron collars, and a blazing Fire

76:5
إِنَّ inna Indeed ٱلۡأَبۡرَارَ al-abrara the righteous يَشۡرَبُونَ yashrabuna will drink مِن min from كَأۡسٖ kasin a cup كَانَ kana is مِزَاجُهَا mizajuha its mixture كَافُورًا kafuran (of) Kafur ٥
inna al-abrara yashrabuna min kasin kana mizajuha kafuran
— Transliteration
Verily, the Abrar (pious, who fear Allah and avoid evil), shall drink a cup (of wine) mixed with water from a spring in Paradise called Kafur

76:6
عَيۡنٗا aynan A spring يَشۡرَبُ yashrabu will drink بِهَا biha from it عِبَادُ ibadu (the) slaves ٱللَّهِ al-lahi (of) Allah يُفَجِّرُونَهَا yufajjirunaha causing it to gush forth تَفۡجِيرٗا tafjiran abundantly ٦
aynan yashrabu biha ibadu al-lahi yufajjirunaha tafjiran
— Transliteration
A spring wherefrom the slaves of Allah will drink, causing it to gush forth abundantly

76:7
يُوفُونَ yufuna They fulfill بِٱلنَّذۡرِ bil-nadhri the vows وَيَخَافُونَ wayakhafuna and fear يَوۡمٗا yawman a Day كَانَ kana (which) is شَرُّهُۥ sharruhu its evil مُسۡتَطِيرٗا mus'tatiran widespread ٧
yufuna bil-nadhri wayakhafuna yawman kana sharruhu mus'tatiran
— Transliteration
They (are those who) fulfill (their) vows, and they fear a Day whose evil will be wide-spreading

76:8
وَيُطۡعِمُونَ wayut'imuna And they feed ٱلطَّعَامَ al-ta'ama the food عَلَىٰ ala in spite of حُبِّهِۦ hubbihi love (for) it مِسۡكِينٗا mis'kinan (to the) needy وَيَتِيمٗا wayatiman and (the) orphan وَأَسِيرًا wa-asiran and (the) captive ٨
wayut'imuna al-ta'ama ala hubbihi mis'kinan wayatiman wa-asiran
— Transliteration
And they give food, inspite of their love for it (or for the love of Him), to Miskin (poor), the orphan, and the captive

76:9
إِنَّمَا innama Only نُطۡعِمُكُمۡ nut'imukum we feed you لِوَجۡهِ liwajhi for (the) Countenance ٱللَّهِ al-lahi (of) Allah لَا la Not نُرِيدُ nuridu we desire مِنكُمۡ minkum from you جَزَآءٗ jazaan any reward وَلَا wala and not شُكُورًا shukuran thanks ٩
innama nut'imukum liwajhi al-lahi la nuridu minkum jazaan wala shukuran
— Transliteration
(Saying): "We feed you seeking Allah's Countenance only. We wish for no reward, nor thanks from you

76:10
إِنَّا inna Indeed we نَخَافُ nakhafu fear مِن min from رَّبِّنَا rabbina our Lord يَوۡمًا yawman a Day عَبُوسٗا abusan harsh قَمۡطَرِيرٗا qamtariran and distressful ١٠
inna nakhafu min rabbina yawman abusan qamtariran
— Transliteration
Verily, We fear from our Lord a Day, hard and distressful, that will make the faces look horrible (from extreme dislikeness to it)
