79:1
وَٱلنَّٰزِعَٰتِ wal-nazi'ati By those who extract غَرۡقٗا gharqan violently ١
wal-nazi'ati gharqan
— Transliteration
By those (angels) who pull out (the souls of the disbelievers and the wicked) with great violence
— English - Hilali & Khan
79:2
وَٱلنَّٰشِطَٰتِ wal-nashitati And those who draw out نَشۡطٗا nashtan gently ٢
wal-nashitati nashtan
— Transliteration
By those (angels) who gently take out (the souls of the believers)
— English - Hilali & Khan
79:3
وَٱلسَّٰبِحَٰتِ wal-sabihati And those who glide سَبۡحٗا sabhan swimming ٣
wal-sabihati sabhan
— Transliteration
And by those that swim along (i.e. angels or planets in their orbits, etc)
— English - Hilali & Khan
79:4
فَٱلسَّٰبِقَٰتِ fal-sabiqati And those who race each other سَبۡقٗا sabqan (in) a race ٤
fal-sabiqati sabqan
— Transliteration
And by those that press forward as in a race (i.e. the angels or stars or the horses, etc)

79:5
فَٱلۡمُدَبِّرَٰتِ fal-mudabirati And those who arrange أَمۡرٗا amran (the) matter ٥
fal-mudabirati amran
— Transliteration
And by those angels who arrange to do the Commands of their Lord, (so verily, you disbelievers will be called to account)

79:6
يَوۡمَ yawma (The) Day تَرۡجُفُ tarjufu will quake ٱلرَّاجِفَةُ al-rajifatu the quaking one ٦
yawma tarjufu al-rajifatu
— Transliteration
On the Day (when the first blowing of the Trumpet is blown), the earth and the mountains will shake violently (and everybody will die)

79:7
تَتۡبَعُهَا tatba'uha Follows it ٱلرَّادِفَةُ al-radifatu the subsequent ٧
tatba'uha al-radifatu
— Transliteration
The second blowing of the Trumpet follows it (and everybody will be raised up)

79:8
قُلُوبٞ qulubun Hearts يَوۡمَئِذٖ yawma-idhin that Day وَاجِفَةٌ wajifatun will palpitate ٨
qulubun yawma-idhin wajifatun
— Transliteration
(Some) hearts that Day will shake with fear and anxiety

79:9
أَبۡصَٰرُهَا absaruha Their eyes خَٰشِعَةٞ khashi'atun humbled ٩
absaruha khashi'atun
— Transliteration
Their eyes cast down

79:10
يَقُولُونَ yaquluna They say أَءِنَّا a-inna Will we لَمَرۡدُودُونَ lamarduduna indeed be returned فِي fi to ٱلۡحَافِرَةِ al-hafirati the former state? ١٠
yaquluna a-inna lamarduduna fi al-hafirati
— Transliteration
They say: "Shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state of life
