16:1
أَتَىٰٓ ata Will come أَمۡرُ amru (the) command of Allah ٱللَّهِ al-lahi (the) command of Allah فَلَا fala so (do) not تَسۡتَعۡجِلُوهُۚ tasta'jiluhu (be) impatient for it سُبۡحَٰنَهُۥ sub'hanahu Glorified is He وَتَعَٰلَىٰ wata'ala and Exalted (is) He عَمَّا amma above what يُشۡرِكُونَ yush'rikuna they associate ١
ata amru al-lahi fala tasta'jiluhu sub'hanahu wata'ala amma yush'rikuna
— Transliteration
The Event (the Hour or the punishment of disbelievers and polytheists or the Islamic laws or commandments), ordained by Allah will come to pass, so seek not to hasten it. Glorified and Exalted be He above all that they associate as partners with Him

16:2
يُنَزِّلُ yunazzilu He sends down ٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةَ al-malaikata the Angels بِٱلرُّوحِ bil-ruhi with the inspiration مِنۡ min of أَمۡرِهِۦ amrihi His Command عَلَىٰ ala upon مَن man whom يَشَآءُ yashau He wills مِنۡ min of عِبَادِهِۦٓ ibadihi His slaves أَنۡ an that أَنذِرُوٓاْ andhiru Warn أَنَّهُۥ annahu that [He] لَآ la (there is) no إِلَٰهَ ilaha god إِلَّآ illa except أَنَا۠ ana Me فَٱتَّقُونِ fa-ittaquni so fear Me ٢
yunazzilu al-malaikata bil-ruhi min amrihi ala man yashau min ibadihi an andhiru annahu la ilaha illa ana fa-ittaquni
— Transliteration
He sends down the angels with inspiration of His Command to whom of His slaves He pleases (saying): "Warn mankind that La ilaha illa Ana (none has the right to be worshipped but I), so fear Me (by abstaining from sins and evil deeds)

16:3
خَلَقَ khalaqa He created ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ al-samawati the heavens وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ wal-arda and the earth بِٱلۡحَقِّۚ bil-haqi in truth تَعَٰلَىٰ ta'ala Exalted is He عَمَّا amma above what يُشۡرِكُونَ yush'rikuna they associate ٣
khalaqa al-samawati wal-arda bil-haqi ta'ala amma yush'rikuna
— Transliteration
He has created the heavens and the earth with truth. High be He Exalted above all they associate as partners with Him

16:4
خَلَقَ khalaqa He created ٱلۡإِنسَٰنَ al-insana the human kind مِن min from نُّطۡفَةٖ nut'fatin a minute quantity of semen فَإِذَا fa-idha then behold هُوَ huwa he خَصِيمٞ khasimun (is) an opponent مُّبِينٞ mubinun clear ٤
khalaqa al-insana min nut'fatin fa-idha huwa khasimun mubinun
— Transliteration
He has created man from Nutfah (mixed drops of male and female sexual discharge), then behold, this same (man) becomes an open opponent

16:5
وَٱلۡأَنۡعَٰمَ wal-an'ama And the cattle خَلَقَهَاۖ khalaqaha He created them لَكُمۡ lakum for you فِيهَا fiha in them دِفۡءٞ dif'on (is) warmth وَمَنَٰفِعُ wamanafi'u and benefits وَمِنۡهَا wamin'ha and from them تَأۡكُلُونَ takuluna you eat ٥
wal-an'ama khalaqaha lakum fiha dif'on wamanafi'u wamin'ha takuluna
— Transliteration
And the cattle, He has created them for you; in them there is warmth (warm clothing), and numerous benefits, and of them you eat

16:6
وَلَكُمۡ walakum And for you فِيهَا fiha in them جَمَالٌ jamalun (is) beauty حِينَ hina when تُرِيحُونَ turihuna you bring them in وَحِينَ wahina and when تَسۡرَحُونَ tasrahuna you take them out ٦
walakum fiha jamalun hina turihuna wahina tasrahuna
— Transliteration
And wherein is beauty for you, when you bring them home in the evening, and as you lead them forth to pasture in the morning

16:7
وَتَحۡمِلُ watahmilu And they carry أَثۡقَالَكُمۡ athqalakum your loads إِلَىٰ ila to بَلَدٖ baladin a land لَّمۡ lam not تَكُونُواْ takunu you could بَٰلِغِيهِ balighihi reach it إِلَّا illa except بِشِقِّ bishiqqi with great trouble ٱلۡأَنفُسِۚ al-anfusi (to) yourselves إِنَّ inna Indeed رَبَّكُمۡ rabbakum your Lord لَرَءُوفٞ laraufun surely is Most Kind رَّحِيمٞ rahimun Most Merciful ٧
watahmilu athqalakum ila baladin lam takunu balighihi illa bishiqqi al-anfusi inna rabbakum laraufun rahimun
— Transliteration
And they carry your loads to a land that you could not reach except with great trouble to yourselves. Truly, your Lord is full of Kindness, Most Merciful

16:8
وَٱلۡخَيۡلَ wal-khayla And horses وَٱلۡبِغَالَ wal-bighala and mules وَٱلۡحَمِيرَ wal-hamira and donkeys لِتَرۡكَبُوهَا litarkabuha for you to ride them وَزِينَةٗۚ wazinatan and (as) adornment وَيَخۡلُقُ wayakhluqu And He creates مَا ma what لَا la not تَعۡلَمُونَ ta'lamuna you know ٨
wal-khayla wal-bighala wal-hamira litarkabuha wazinatan wayakhluqu ma la ta'lamuna
— Transliteration
And (He has created) horses, mules and donkeys, for you to ride and as an adornment. And He creates (other) things of which you have no knowledge

16:9
وَعَلَى wa'ala And upon ٱللَّهِ al-lahi Allah قَصۡدُ qasdu (is) the direction ٱلسَّبِيلِ al-sabili (of) the way وَمِنۡهَا wamin'ha and among them جَآئِرٞۚ jairun (are) crooked وَلَوۡ walaw And if شَآءَ shaa He willed لَهَدَىٰكُمۡ lahadakum surely He would have guided you أَجۡمَعِينَ ajma'ina all ٩
wa'ala al-lahi qasdu al-sabili wamin'ha jairun walaw shaa lahadakum ajma'ina
— Transliteration
And upon Allah is the responsibility to explain the Straight Path (i.e. Islamic Monotheism for mankind i.e. to show them legal and illegal, good and evil things, etc. so, whosoever accepts the guidance, it will be for his own benefit and whosoever goes astray, it will be for his own destruction), but there are ways that turn aside (such as Paganism, Judaism, Christianity, etc.). And had He willed, He would have guided you all (mankind)

16:10
هُوَ huwa He ٱلَّذِيٓ alladhi (is) the One Who أَنزَلَ anzala sends down مِنَ mina from ٱلسَّمَآءِ al-samai the sky مَآءٗۖ maan water لَّكُم lakum for you مِّنۡهُ min'hu of it شَرَابٞ sharabun (is) drink وَمِنۡهُ wamin'hu and from it شَجَرٞ shajarun (grows) vegetation فِيهِ fihi in which تُسِيمُونَ tusimuna you pasture your cattle ١٠
huwa alladhi anzala mina al-samai maan lakum min'hu sharabun wamin'hu shajarun fihi tusimuna
— Transliteration
He it is Who sends down water (rain) from the sky; from it you drink and from it (grows) the vegetation on which you send your cattle to pasture
