78:1
عَمَّ amma About what يَتَسَآءَلُونَ yatasaaluna are they asking one another? ١
amma yatasaaluna
— Transliteration
What are they asking (one another)

78:2
عَنِ ani About ٱلنَّبَإِ al-naba-i the News ٱلۡعَظِيمِ al-'azimi the Great ٢
ani al-naba-i al-'azimi
— Transliteration
About the great news, (i.e. Islamic Monotheism, the Quran, which Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) brought and the Day of Resurrection, etc

ٱلَّذِي alladhi (About) which هُمۡ hum they فِيهِ fihi (are) concerning it مُخۡتَلِفُونَ mukh'talifuna (in) disagreement ٣
alladhi hum fihi mukh'talifuna
— Transliteration
About which they are in disagreement

كـَلَّا kalla Nay! سَيَعۡلَمُونَ saya'lamuna (soon) they will know ٤
kalla saya'lamuna
— Transliteration
Nay, they will come to know

ثُمَّ thumma Then كـَلَّا kalla Nay! سَيَعۡلَمُونَ saya'lamuna (soon) they will know ٥

Nay, again, they will come to know

78:6
أَلَمۡ alam Have not نَجۡعَلِ naj'ali We made ٱلۡأَرۡضَ al-arda the earth مِهَٰدٗا mihadan a resting place? ٦
alam naj'ali al-arda mihadan
— Transliteration
Have We not made the earth as a bed

78:7
وَٱلۡجِبَالَ wal-jibala And the mountains أَوۡتَادٗا awtadan (as) pegs ٧
wal-jibala awtadan
— Transliteration
And the mountains as pegs

78:8
وَخَلَقۡنَٰكُمۡ wakhalaqnakum And We created you أَزۡوَٰجٗا azwajan (in) pairs ٨
wakhalaqnakum azwajan
— Transliteration
And We have created you in pairs (male and female, tall and short, good and bad, etc)

78:9
وَجَعَلۡنَا waja'alna And We made نَوۡمَكُمۡ nawmakum your sleep سُبَاتٗا subatan (for) rest ٩
waja'alna nawmakum subatan
— Transliteration
And have made your sleep as a thing for rest

78:10
وَجَعَلۡنَا waja'alna And We made ٱلَّيۡلَ al-layla the night لِبَاسٗا libasan (as) covering ١٠
waja'alna al-layla libasan
— Transliteration
And have made the night as a covering (through its darkness)
