الصَّمَدُٱلصَّمَدُl-ṣamaduthe Eternal the Absoluteاللَّهُٱللَّهُal-lahuAllah
yaayyuha al-nabiyu lima tuharrimu ma ahalla al-lahu laka tabtaghi mardata azwajika wal-lahu ghafurun rahimun — Transliteration
O Prophet! Why do you ban (for yourself) that which Allah has made lawful to you, seeking to please your wives? And Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful — English - Hilali & Khan
66:2
قَدۡqadIndeedفَرَضَfaradahas ordainedٱللَّهُal-lahuAllahلَكُمۡlakumfor youتَحِلَّةَtahillata(the) dissolutionأَيۡمَٰنِكُمۡۚaymanikum(of) your oathsوَٱللَّهُwal-lahuAnd Allahمَوۡلَىٰكُمۡۖmawlakum(is) your Protectorوَهُوَwahuwaand Heٱلۡعَلِيمُal-'alimu(is) the AllKnowerٱلۡحَكِيمُal-hakimuthe AllWise٢
Allah has already ordained for you (O men), the dissolution of your oaths. And Allah is your Maula (Lord, or Master, or Protector, etc.) and He is the All-Knower, the All-Wise — English - Hilali & Khan
66:3
وَإِذۡwa-idhAnd whenأَسَرَّasarraconfidedٱلنَّبِيُّal-nabiyuthe Prophetإِلَىٰilatoبَعۡضِba'dioneأَزۡوَٰجِهِۦazwajihi(of) his wivesحَدِيثٗاhadithana statementفَلَمَّاfalammaand whenنَبَّأَتۡnabba-atshe informedبِهِۦbihiabout itوَأَظۡهَرَهُwa-azharahuand made it apparentٱللَّهُal-lahuAllahعَلَيۡهِalayhito himعَرَّفَarrafahe made knownبَعۡضَهُۥba'dahua part of itوَأَعۡرَضَwa-a'radaand avoidedعَنۢan[of]بَعۡضٖۖba'dina partفَلَمَّاfalammaThen whenنَبَّأَهَاnabba-ahahe informed herبِهِۦbihiabout itقَالَتۡqalatshe saidمَنۡmanWhoأَنۢبَأَكَanba-akainformed youهَٰذَاۖhadhathis?قَالَqalaHe saidنَبَّأَنِيَnabba-aniyaHas informed meٱلۡعَلِيمُal-'alimuthe AllKnowerٱلۡخَبِيرُal-khabiruthe AllAware٣
wa-idh asarra al-nabiyu ila ba'di azwajihi hadithan falamma nabba-at bihi wa-azharahu al-lahu alayhi arrafa ba'dahu wa-a'rada an ba'din falamma nabba-aha bihi qalat man anba-aka hadha qala nabba-aniya al-'alimu al-khabiru — Transliteration
And (remember) when the Prophet (SAW) disclosed a matter in confidence to one of his wives (Hafsah), so when she told it (to another i.e. 'Aishah), and Allah made it known to him, he informed part thereof and left a part. Then when he told her (Hafsah) thereof, she said: "Who told you this?" He said: "The All-Knower, the All-Aware (Allah) has told me — English - Hilali & Khan
66:4
إِنinIfتَتُوبَآtatubayou both turnإِلَىilatoٱللَّهِal-lahiAllahفَقَدۡfaqadso indeedصَغَتۡsaghat(are) inclinedقُلُوبُكُمَاۖqulubukumayour heartsوَإِنwa-inbut ifتَظَٰهَرَاtazaharayou backup each otherعَلَيۡهِalayhiagainst himفَإِنَّfa-innathen indeedٱللَّهَal-lahaAllahهُوَhuwaHeمَوۡلَىٰهُmawlahu(is) his Protectorوَجِبۡرِيلُwajib'riluand Jibreelوَصَٰلِحُwasalihuand (the) righteousٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَۖal-mu'mininabelieversوَٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةُwal-malaikatuand the Angelsبَعۡدَba'daafterذَٰلِكَdhalikathatظَهِيرٌzahirun(are his) assistants٤
in tatuba ila al-lahi faqad saghat qulubukuma wa-in tazahara alayhi fa-inna al-laha huwa mawlahu wajib'rilu wasalihu al-mu'minina wal-malaikatu ba'da dhalika zahirun — Transliteration
If you two (wives of the Prophet SAW, namely 'Aishah and Hafsah) turn in repentance to Allah, (it will be better for you), your hearts are indeed so inclined (to oppose what the Prophet SAW likes), but if you help one another against him (Muhammad SAW), then verily, Allah is his Maula (Lord, or Master, or Protector, etc.), and Jibrael (Gabriel), and the righteous among the believers, and furthermore, the angels are his helpers — English - Hilali & Khan
66:5
عَسَىٰasaPerhapsرَبُّهُۥٓrabbuhuhis Lordإِنinifطَلَّقَكُنَّtallaqakunnahe divorced youأَنan[that]يُبۡدِلَهُۥٓyub'dilahuHe will substitute for himأَزۡوَٰجًاazwajanwivesخَيۡرٗاkhayranbetterمِّنكُنَّminkunnathan youمُسۡلِمَٰتٖmus'limatinsubmissiveمُّؤۡمِنَٰتٖmu'minatinfaithfulقَٰنِتَٰتٖqanitatinobedientتَٰٓئِبَٰتٍtaibatinrepentantعَٰبِدَٰتٖabidatinwho worshipسَٰٓئِحَٰتٖsaihatinwho fastثَيِّبَٰتٖthayyibatinpreviously marriedوَأَبۡكَارٗاwa-abkaranand virgins٥
asa rabbuhu in tallaqakunna an yub'dilahu azwajan khayran minkunna mus'limatin mu'minatin qanitatin taibatin abidatin saihatin thayyibatin wa-abkaran — Transliteration
It may be if he divorced you (all) that his Lord will give him instead of you, wives better than you, Muslims (who submit to Allah), believers, obedient to Allah, turning to Allah in repentance, worshipping Allah sincerely, fasting or emigrants (for Allah's sake), previously married and virgins — English - Hilali & Khan
66:6
يَٰٓأَيُّهَاyaayyuhaOٱلَّذِينَalladhina(you) whoءَامَنُواْamanubelieve!قُوٓاْquProtectأَنفُسَكُمۡanfusakumyourselvesوَأَهۡلِيكُمۡwa-ahlikumand your familiesنَارٗاnaran(from) a Fireوَقُودُهَاwaquduhawhose fuelٱلنَّاسُal-nasu(is) peopleوَٱلۡحِجَارَةُwal-hijaratuand stonesعَلَيۡهَاalayhaover itمَلَٰٓئِكَةٌmalaikatun(are) Angelsغِلَاظٞghilazunsternشِدَادٞshidadunsevereلَّاlanotيَعۡصُونَya'sunathey disobeyٱللَّهَal-lahaAllahمَآma(in) whatأَمَرَهُمۡamarahumHe Commands themوَيَفۡعَلُونَwayaf 'alunabut they doمَاmawhatيُؤۡمَرُونَyu'marunathey are commanded٦
yaayyuha alladhina amanu qu anfusakum wa-ahlikum naran waquduha al-nasu wal-hijaratu alayha malaikatun ghilazun shidadun la ya'suna al-laha ma amarahum wayaf 'aluna ma yu'maruna — Transliteration
O you who believe! Ward off from yourselves and your families a Fire (Hell) whose fuel is men and stones, over which are (appointed) angels stern (and) severe, who disobey not, (from executing) the Commands they receive from Allah, but do that which they are commanded — English - Hilali & Khan
66:7
يَٰٓأَيُّهَاyaayyuhaOٱلَّذِينَalladhina(you) whoكَفَرُواْkafarudisbelieve!لَاla(Do) notتَعۡتَذِرُواْta'tadhirumake excusesٱلۡيَوۡمَۖal-yawmatodayإِنَّمَاinnamaOnlyتُجۡزَوۡنَtuj'zawnayou will be recompensedمَاma(for) whatكُنتُمۡkuntumyou used toتَعۡمَلُونَta'malunado٧
yaayyuha alladhina kafaru la ta'tadhiru al-yawma innama tuj'zawna ma kuntum ta'maluna — Transliteration
(It will be said in the Hereafter) O you who disbelieve (in the Oneness of Allah - Islamic Monotheism)! Make no excuses this Day! You are being requited only for what you used to do — English - Hilali & Khan

يَٰٓأَيُّهَاyaayyuhaOٱلَّذِينَalladhina(you) who believeءَامَنُواْamanubelieve!تُوبُوٓاْtubuTurnإِلَىilatoٱللَّهِal-lahiAllahتَوۡبَةٗtawbatan(in) repentanceنَّصُوحًاnasuhansincere!عَسَىٰasaPerhapsرَبُّكُمۡrabbukumyour Lordأَنanwillيُكَفِّرَyukaffiraremoveعَنكُمۡankumfrom youسَيِّـَٔاتِكُمۡsayyiatikumyour evil deedsوَيُدۡخِلَكُمۡwayud'khilakumand admit youجَنَّٰتٖjannatin(into) Gardensتَجۡرِيtajriflowمِنminfromتَحۡتِهَاtahtihaunderneath itٱلۡأَنۡهَٰرُal-anharuthe riversيَوۡمَyawma(on the) Dayلَاlanotيُخۡزِيyukh'ziwill be disgracedٱللَّهُal-lahu(by) Allahٱلنَّبِيَّal-nabiyathe Prophetوَٱلَّذِينَwa-alladhinaand those whoءَامَنُواْamanubelievedمَعَهُۥۖma'ahuwith himنُورُهُمۡnuruhumTheir lightيَسۡعَىٰyas'awill runبَيۡنَbaynabeforeأَيۡدِيهِمۡaydihimtheir handsوَبِأَيۡمَٰنِهِمۡwabi-aymanihimand on their rightيَقُولُونَyaqulunathey will sayرَبَّنَآrabbanaOur LordأَتۡمِمۡatmimPerfectلَنَاlanafor usنُورَنَاnuranaour lightوَٱغۡفِرۡwa-igh'firand grant forgivenessلَنَآۖlanato usإِنَّكَinnakaIndeed Youعَلَىٰala(are) overكُلِّkullieveryشَيۡءٖshayinthingقَدِيرٞqadirunAllPowerful٨
yaayyuha alladhina amanu tubu ila al-lahi tawbatan nasuhan asa rabbukum an yukaffira ankum sayyiatikum wayud'khilakum jannatin tajri min tahtiha al-anharu yawma la yukh'zi al-lahu al-nabiya wa-alladhina amanu ma'ahu nuruhum yas'a bayna aydihim wabi-aymanihim yaquluna rabbana atmim lana nurana wa-igh'fir lana innaka ala kulli shayin qadirun — Transliteration
O you who believe! Turn to Allah with sincere repentance! It may be that your Lord will remit from you your sins, and admit you into Gardens under which rivers flow (Paradise) the Day that Allah will not disgrace the Prophet (Muhammad SAW) and those who believe with him, their Light will run forward before them and with (their Records Books of deeds) in their right hands they will say: "Our Lord! Keep perfect our Light for us [and do not put it off till we cross over the Sirat (a slippery bridge over the Hell) safely] and grant us forgiveness. Verily, You are Able to do all things — English - Hilali & Khan
66:9
يَٰٓأَيُّهَاyaayyuhaOٱلنَّبِيُّal-nabiyuProphet!جَٰهِدِjahidiStriveٱلۡكُفَّارَal-kufara(against) the disbelieversوَٱلۡمُنَٰفِقِينَwal-munafiqinaand the hypocritesوَٱغۡلُظۡwa-ugh'luzand be sternعَلَيۡهِمۡۚalayhimwith themوَمَأۡوَىٰهُمۡwamawahumAnd their abodeجَهَنَّمُۖjahannamu(is) Hellوَبِئۡسَwabi'saand wretched isٱلۡمَصِيرُal-masiruthe destination٩
O Prophet (Muhammad SAW)! Strive hard against the disbelievers and the hypocrites, and be severe against them, their abode will be Hell, and worst indeed is that destination — English - Hilali & Khan
66:10
ضَرَبَdarabaPresentsٱللَّهُal-lahuAllahمَثَلٗاmathalanan exampleلِّلَّذِينَlilladhinafor those whoكَفَرُواْkafarudisbelieved ٱمۡرَأَتَim'ra-ata(the) wifeنُوحٖnuhin(of) Nuhوَٱمۡرَأَتَwa-im'ra-ata(and the) wifeلُوطٖۖlutin(of) LutكَانَتَاkanataThey wereتَحۡتَtahtaunderعَبۡدَيۡنِabdaynitwo [slaves]مِنۡminofعِبَادِنَاibadinaOur slavesصَٰلِحَيۡنِsalihaynirighteousفَخَانَتَاهُمَاfakhanatahumabut they both betrayed themفَلَمۡfalamso notيُغۡنِيَاyugh'niyathey availedعَنۡهُمَاanhumaboth of themمِنَminafromٱللَّهِal-lahiAllahشَيۡـٔٗاshayan(in) anythingوَقِيلَwaqilaand it was saidٱدۡخُلَاud'khulaEnterٱلنَّارَal-narathe Fireمَعَma'awithٱلدَّٰخِلِينَal-dakhilinathose who enter١٠
daraba al-lahu mathalan lilladhina kafaru im'ra-ata nuhin wa-im'ra-ata lutin kanata tahta abdayni min ibadina salihayni fakhanatahuma falam yugh'niya anhuma mina al-lahi shayan waqila ud'khula al-nara ma'a al-dakhilina — Transliteration
Allah sets forth an example for those who disbelieve, the wife of Nuh (Noah) and the wife of Lout (Lot). They were under two of our righteous slaves, but they both betrayed their (husbands by rejecting their doctrine) so they [Nuh (Noah) and Lout (Lot)] benefited them (their respective wives) not, against Allah, and it was said: "Enter the Fire along with those who enter — English - Hilali & Khan
