الصَّمَدُٱلصَّمَدُl-ṣamaduthe Eternal the Absoluteاللَّهُٱللَّهُal-lahuAllah
As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the awful cry — English - Hilali & Khan
69:6
وَأَمَّاwa-ammaAnd as forعَادٞadunAadفَأُهۡلِكُواْfa-uh'likuthey were destroyedبِرِيحٖbirihinby a windصَرۡصَرٍsarsarinscreamingعَاتِيَةٖatiyatinviolent٦
And as for 'Ad, they were destroyed by a furious violent wind — English - Hilali & Khan
69:7
سَخَّرَهَاsakharahaWhich He imposedعَلَيۡهِمۡalayhimupon themسَبۡعَsab'a(for) sevenلَيَالٖlayalinnightsوَثَمَٰنِيَةَwathamaniyataand eightأَيَّامٍayyamindaysحُسُومٗاۖhusuman(in) successionفَتَرَىfataraso you would seeٱلۡقَوۡمَal-qawmathe peopleفِيهَاfihathereinصَرۡعَىٰsar'afallenكَأَنَّهُمۡka-annahumas if they wereأَعۡجَازُa'jazutrunksنَخۡلٍnakhlin(of) datepalmsخَاوِيَةٖkhawiyatinhollow٧
Which Allah imposed on them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so that you could see men lying overthrown (destroyed), as if they were hollow trunks of date-palms — English - Hilali & Khan
And Fir'aun (Pharaoh), and those before him, and the cities overthrown [the towns of the people of [Lout (Lot)] committed sin — English - Hilali & Khan
69:10
فَعَصَوۡاْfa'asawAnd they disobeyedرَسُولَrasula(the) Messengerرَبِّهِمۡrabbihim(of) their Lordفَأَخَذَهُمۡfa-akhadhahumso He seized themأَخۡذَةٗakhdhatan(with) a seizureرَّابِيَةًrabiyatanexceeding١٠
